* UPDATE 8/14/2006 *

Got bored and took some new pics of the bike in my alley, right as the sun was going down.
The low-gloss paint looks best in this light , i think...

More pics in my Gallery...... 8)

* Project JUnK Update 8/23/06 *

I had another post going , but I wanted to update this one  ;D

On a freak accident , I used the wrong paint for a "touch-up" , and ended up with this --->

At first I wasn't a fan , but the gloss has grown on me. Over the winter the tank & covers are getting pulled and will have a
pro gloss black paintjob done, along with some kickass Honda emblems I got off Ebay. Gonna look tight !

In other news I finally got around to wrapping my 4 into 1.
I used the wrap from the old 4 into 2, and now if that isn't recycling I don't know what is  ;D

I soaked the wrap in some water to get it's shape back, then wrapped each primary tube as tight as I could.
I would of went farther down, but because the tubes get so tight next to each other, it is nearly impossible to wrap them all the way down.
The way it is now gives off a more industrial/raw/un finished look I think ,which is what my bike is all about (I think?)

After I was done, I took some high temp bar-b-q paint and sprayed the wrap down while the bike was running, and after it had cooled to insure a good ad hersion of the paint. Looks brand new - and quite good in my opinion.

Next on the list is to re-weld the cannon on the 4 into 1 so it "hugs" the bike alittle more, new Tach/Top triple tree setup, and some
other things that I cant mention at the momment ;D

More updates to come , well , as they come... ;D

That is my crankcase breather borrowed from the V-twin world.
Once the bike is warm the thing smokes like a #$%*  ;D
Weather that means the thing is gonna blow or not , dont really care.

Good eye their Cben  ;)
I agree with ya 110%.
I was in a rush when I wrapped the pipes, and at the time I just wanted to insure the wrap wasnt going anywhere. I ordered some different clamps (look allot cleaner) , so those will be installed the proper / clean way.

Bike looks amazing, but I have a newb-type question.  I can't find anyone who can tell me the exact purpose served by wrapping the pipes?  what effect is there on performance, hp, etc?

Do a search for WRAPPED PIPES or HEADERWRAP and I am sure you will find the info u need.
Basically in the old days Headerwrap was used to keep the heat IN the pipe, to make more power.
This idea is the basis for why most if not all high performance exhaust systems are Ceramic Coated now-a-days.
Same Idea - just a new way to get the same result. Both work , just the wrap is way more vintage/retro/etc...

I know Kristen pretty well, so I guess that makes me "lucky"  ;D
As I said in the past , my last job at the custom/V-twin shop put me in the position to meet allot
of hot women/models/etc..

I miss that job  :-[

* Project JUnK Update as of 9/6/06 *
Finally got around to removing the tank and sanding it down to bare metal.
I got luck when I got this tank , as it is in perfect shape, with not one dent on it , zero rust, etc (as u can see in the pics below)..
I wasn't sure what I gonna do with it once I got it done, but I have something in store for it, which I will post pics of when complete.. ;D

JUST AN FYI TO ALL CERAMIC/ENAMEL RATTLECAN USERS !
Have fun sanding off the paint ! This crap is like concrete, and doesn't like to be sanded, as it just balls up and ruins the sandpaper you are using. I had to break out a wire wheel and high speed drill and literally chip off the paint. It didn't help I had two entire cans of black sandable primer along with 3 or so cans of enamel paint on the tank either ::) Their had to be atleast 3 lbs. of paint on that thing, but it is all clean now, and the tank is ready for it's final "finish" (coming this Saturday) ;D
