Here you go Lutz, Z1 Enterprises are selling the Dyna 2000 kit for $384.00, so you send me one of them, and I'll pay for shipping the complete ARD magneto, coil, CDI box etc to you, OK?

I sold my other ARD EI magneto to one of the guys here for $550.00 plus shipping, so that's a bargain! Cheers, Terry. ;D

If you want just the coil and black box to keep shipping costs down I'll keep the magneto, but the price is the same, a "straight swap" for a new Dyna 2000 ignition and a pair of Dyna 3 ohm coils. Cheers, Terry. ;D

i´m not very happy and bad news for you  :-[
I can`t buy the magneto because last weekend we have had a lot of trouble with our dragster,so first of all i have to buy new engine parts or in the worth case a complete new engine   :'(

Thanks Terry,but it is not a drag bike,it is an altered with a chevy small block and a new engine will cost about 6000-8000 $ !

There are still members reading all 24 pages of this, and I've gotten a couple emails on the "instruction sheets", so a fellow member "cleaned them up a little" and converted them to PDF...

I also found my old ARD-Triumph 650 twin instruction sheet in a notebook I used for reloading...so I scanned that and uploaded it, too...

If you have an ARD mag, whether Fairbanks-Morse or the CDI model, it's worth reading all three and understanding what's going on before converting your Honda 500/550/750 to magneto ignition...   ;)

If anybody is interested, I've got one for sale. I bought it for a project that I went a different direction on, so I'm getting rid of the stuff I'm not going to use.

I would post this to the classifieds, but for some reason it won't let me create a new post there. In any case, here are a couple of pics of what I've got. I don't know much about it, other than the belt & pulleys look to be in good shape, it's not sparking so it will need a rebuild, and the lower pulley that attaches to the timing shaft of the bike needs a bearing. I can take better pictures if anybody is really interested. I'd love to see $600 plus shipping for it.

Hey Guys!

I'm only new to this forum having just built a 76 CB750, I've got an F1 head on there and it's basically just a bare bones rat cafe! so excited!

I've been looking for an ARD Magneto for it for ages though, can anyone give me any leads? the current battery eliminator ive got on there is a bit ghetto but works, id like a stronger spark though..

 They are just watching the valve get opened by the rocker arm.
 If one is opening the other cylinder at TDC is ready to check.
 You can find TDC though the plug hole. Then if 1 is at the top, set #4
 IF the exhaust is opening, intake better be closed.

With the mag, you lose the TDC indicator from the old ignition. Adjusting the valves doesn't change. Finding TDCC is the challenge. "BY eye" will work if you know what you're looking at. There is a long patch of the cam lobe where its actually fine to set the lash, it doesn't have to be exactly at TDCC.

As 754 says, you can find TDCC watching the piston crown rise, then fall, thru the plug hole.  With a light.  You could also put a long screwdriver in the hole and while supporting it with your fingers, feel it rise with the piston.

Find it once, then make some marks of your own on the mag.

When the oston rises keep it there;
 if 1 is up do 4
 if 2 is up do 3
 if 3 is up do 1
 if 3 is up do 2

 & yes its because there are no marks like stock.. not complicated..

 not having auto-advance, now that complicates things..

Hello everyone, I have this mag on my cb750 project and have no spark, can anyone help me with testing? and where to buy parts for these ARD mags? its the same as the one in the above pictures in this post.

I don't think ARD exists any more mate, but the belts are available at engineering suppliers, and the magneto itself is common on old 4 cylinder tractors so a lot of parts are still around, you just can't buy them at any auto parts store. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
