I know I'd be digging that AL frame. Likely a Spondon from what I recall. I hope it is what you think. Good luck.

I hope all ends well.

Look guys, please stop with all the accusations of lying. I can understand how you would think that, but I'm not lying. This may not turn out the way he told me (seems pretty incredible to me too), but everything I have told you is the truth.

I wouldn't pull your leg like this. I didn't even want to mention it because it sounded so incredible. I just thought that they may not be worth anymore than $800, and if that was the case, I would probably pass on the deal, because I'm not too crazy about the way the early carbs were set up (4 into 1 cable).

Anything that seems even unlikely is met with suspicion here.  Wait till you tell them you got the engines for $700 and sold them within 48 hours for 45K.  Stranger things have happened.   ;)

No, he doesn't know what it is all about he has not physically seen them at all.
This is all conjecture until you actually see them and can confirm engine numbers or castings.
I can't tell you how many times I went to see a 'nice guy' on CL that had a listing for a particular bike and the description was TOTALLY WRONG. More than I care to count.

5 non-sandcast engines could be worth $800. Complete with covers and carbs, preferably not seized.

When the guy with the 40 Indian and sidecar told me about the 69 Honda 750 less than an hour away, I was sceptical at first.. but it was there.. Also went and looked at an Indian sidecar, on the SAME road.. stuff IS out there, just dont find it everyday...

Not accusing you of anything as stranger things have happened but it statements like this that rouses peoples suspicions.  Anyone who has spent any time on the forum or around CB750 knows that sandcasts are quite valuable to some people.  Just a few minutes on google would tell you all you need to know.  The old guy in the boonies who's never home, who is willing to sell something valuable for next to nothing...it all just sounds like a weird situation. Hopefully it works out for you.  Me...I'm just here for the entertainmet value...I don't give a crap about sandcasts.   ;D

I agree I think the supply of these things, barn finds, giveaways, etc. is bigger than most can think.

I've given some valuable things away just because on various occasions. (ask Terry). I can see it. As an aging gentleman myself, squeezing the nth out of everything is not as important in some respects as finding it a good home that gives peace to the soul.

Not saying it will happen in this case, just saying, I can see it happening.

Good luck.

Ignore the doubters... I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I'm routing for ya.

I have lost count of how many of you lucky Americans have yanked incredible "barn finds" out of no where.  So ya it does happen.

Not so much in Canada just cuz our population is 1/10 the size of yours.  These bikes are harder to find up here and allot more money when you do find one.

Well ,finally finished reading this extravaganza. Back in the day I saw (and raced against) a few aluminum framed 750's. They were however DRAGBIKES. This could be a legit aluminum roadrace frame but I'm betting on a dragbike frame. I also owned a monocoque Kawasaki 750 roadracer that was aluminum. So CB750 dragbike or moncoque roadrace frame?????

You may be on to something with the dragbike frame.

The guy does have an old Kawasaki drag bike. It looks new (he showed me pics).
He never used the Honda engines though. I was worried that they had been raced/souped up, but he specifically said they were completely stock, and he never ended up doing anything with them.

I would be interested in the Kaw drag bike if it is offered for sale.  Probably K1 with a 1015 kit and flat side carbs.  extended swingarm and slick mickey thompson on the back.  That was the common set-up back when those were raced here locally.

It's green, and looks mint! (from the pics I saw, who knows when they were taken)
I'll ask him if he would be interested in selling it when I go get this stuff.

This is how I came into my current CB500, 12/71, 8k on the clock, other than bars and exhaust stock. life long CA bike.

Guy "gelled" the tank... and the petcock... and the carbs... and I think realizing his mistake he did'nt want to try and get a million for it and had some interest in getting it to someone who would get her back on the road and out of his garage.

ps- nice place you have here!

I am interested to see if he really does get sandcast engines.  I found a 71 CB750 with 114 original miles last year, I am slowly putting here back to original should be a great bike when I am finished.  They are still out there...
