Can't quite see the designation...is that a Suzuki GS?  My first bike was one of those.  Sweet.  And at the best price, too.

Yup, GS1100GK. Free is nice, though it needs a lttle work, front brake work, carb cleaning and a battery. I'm sure I'll find some other little things.

It doesn't have turndowns made out of city bus exhaust pipes like mine did - it's already more of a looker.  Clean that baby up.

I want to put my motor back together only I'm afraid I'm goig to put something in the wrong place.
I have mystery gaskets...

And not sure where all o-rings go??? Thanks in advance for your input.

Taking a look at your gasket kit, it looks like you got a set that was designed to cover every model, so you'll have some stuff left over.   Yamiya’s Gasket Kit is made that way. What brand kit are you using?  I can tell you for certain that the funny oil pan gasket is for a Sandcast. (See picture below) The round rubber gasket in the first picture is the points cover gasket, but from Honda it is made of cork not rubber. IT is hard to tell from the pictures, but I believe the rubber gasket labeled “starter cover” is actually the breather cover gasket and the one with the question marks is the starter cover gasket. The smaller of the two should have a round cross section, that is the breather cover. The starer cover gasket is larger and should have a square cross section. The rubber o-rings with questions marks go in the head and are mutually exclusive depending on which year bike you have. The gasket below the cam chain tensioner gasket in the first picture is for the oil pump. I'm definitely not an expert, so anyone else who knows, please chime in here.

The small rectangular gasket in the first pic near the bottom of the pic is for the oil pump, it goes between the pump body and the valve body.  If you haven't disassembled the oil pump then you won't need it.

For the o-rings:

One goes between the coutershaft bearing support and the engine case, on the right side of the motor behind the transmission cover (5x2.4mm).

Four go under the camshaft support towers (3.7x1.7 mm  OR  5.8x1.9 in K2 and later).

Two go between the head and cylinder (11x2.5 mm)

Two go between the cylinder and block (11x2.5 mm).

One goes behind the spark advancer shaft where it plugs into the crank (6x2.3 mm).

One goes on the clutch lifter adjusting bolt (5x.24 mm).

One seals the starter to the case (24.4x3.1 mm).

Three seal the oil pump to the motor (size unlisted).

One seals the oil pump leak stopper cap (15x2.5mm).

Two go on the oil hoses (15x2.5 mm).

One goes on the main oil passage collar between the crankcase halves (8x3 mm).

Three are for the oil passage caps (two under the motor, one on the right side) (19.4x2.8)

One goes on the left side oil passage plug behind the alternator cover (11x2.5)

One goes on the oil passage plug at the front of the motor (13x2.5).

One goes on the neutral switch (8x3 mm).

One goes on the oil filter bolt (15x2.5).

That adds up to 26 as you have indicated in your pic. But one MIGHT go on the automatic oiler element inside the final shaft (6.4x3 mm) depending on the year of the motor.

Measure what you have and double-check your parts manual.  I took these sizes from a K0-K2 parts book.

Thanks all for the heads up on the gasket kit!!! Finally got around to sealing the cases and in the process I snapped two bolts. AHHHHHHH! Been slowly drilling them out for two days now, broke two easy outs trying to remove them, getting through those has been a chore, using masonry bits to get through the  hardened steel, then drilling the bolt. Still destroying bits, one is done, still working on the other. Waiting on a bunch of odds and ends from Motogrid, definitely need a new set of pistons, I was thinking the cheap set from Cycle xchange. Anyone ever use these?
On to the wheels after all that, everythings powdercoated and bearings pressed, spokes from Buchannon soon. I'm finishing up the brake calipers this week, having a rough time getting the busted bleeder screw out of the front caliper, be done with that by week's end, trying to keep my head and not eff anything else up. I'll post a pile of photos then. Cheers!

Calipers are finally coming together. Had a hell of a time getting broken bleeder screws out not to mention the pistons. Rear is powdercoated and just needs new hardware. The front is ready for powder. I'll be machining new stainless pistons in the coming weeks while waitng on new seals.

It's waming up around here this weekend so I dragged everything out of the house and into the studio. While there, I threw some things together to see what direction I'm headed as I'm still unsure. Tank doesn't quite fit yet gotta do some tweaking there.
