Well, it turns out the pcv system and rupture disk are not the problem. The chirping noise sounds like it's coming from the serpentine belt? Anyway, I can't make the brake issue happen at will, but when it does happen, it's been about 100*F? Maybe I can make the Hell-run to Bonneville after all?? ;D

Is the serpentine belt due for replacement?  Change it out or pack one and tools to change it just in case it lets go.

Then hit the road to enjoy some time with Dennis and Jerry and Cowmann on the salt...presuming Cowmann sticks around. I am sure Dennis would appreciate the hand and encouragement.

Yeah Frank, if I don't do it this year, I probably never will. :(
David, the car only has 11,700 miles on it, and was always garaged in Santa Maria before I got it, so the belt should be OK?

Lost my wallet!! After arriving home from our son's house I went to empty the pockets of my riding jacket and noticed the pocket that I had my wallet in was unzipped and the wallet nowhere to be seen. Fortunately there wasn't much cash in it but it of course had my debit and credit cards and SS card. Just got done calling the credit card customer service to report them lost and cancel them before anyone tries to use them. Now I have to go through all the hassle of getting a new drivers license and SS card.

I've been lucky, I've never lost my wallet, but I remember around 32 years ago I was a young army sergeant and was instructing on a promotion course. I guy I'd befriended on the course, another SGT instructor, thought that his wallet had been stolen by one of the privates who was working for us, who had a history of being "in the sh1t" for various things.

Anyway, he checked the pockets of his pants (that were hanging over a chair, we had just come back from PT) and couldn't feel his wallet, so he cursed a few times, then began calling the various banks to cancel his card. Just as he finished, he noticed his wallet, that had fallen out of his pants pocket, under the chair. I pissed myself laughing, but he was mightily pissed off, because the bank wouldn't "uncancel" his cards, he had to wait for new ones to arrive. Served him right for being a d1ckhead. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Just called the gas station I last had it out to see if someone picked it up there but no luck. What bothers me the most is that my social security card was in there and that's key info for identity theft. I'm pissed because when riding I ALWAYS check my pockets to make sure my wallet is there and the pocket zipped up but I didn't this time.

Went to fill up car and have lunch after church today.  Went to chain called Chili's and had a turkey club sandwich and fries. Fries must have had a piece of rock embedded in one of the because I broke(chipped) a tooth (molar) on a fry.  Now I have to find a dentist and get them to fix this!  I have had two fillings in my life (one of which is in a permanent tooth...)  and have good teeth. This really ticks me off.

Yep that'd piss me off too David, the army was nice enough to install some shiny gold caps on a couple of my teeth many moons ago, but I undid their work when eating a toffee one day, it pulled one of the gold caps right offa my tooth! The remains of that tooth has crumbled, but it doesn't hurt, so I'm happy to take it to the grave. ;D

OK, so I have a 50cc Jonsered chainsaw in for repairs and decide to take out my smaller Huskavarna 142e, on which I Just had the pullcord replaced 2 weeks ago, out to cut some small trees to heat the house this winter.
On the 4 th pull the Husky cord will not retrack. Dealer says ok, no problem, I'll replace it free of charge. 1 week later, on 5th pull, cord will not retrack again!! Dealer says he used a different distributor but THIS time he'll get a Husky pullcord assembly (*like he should have done the 1st time) but it'll cost more.....

Winter is coming and I really need to stock up on wood for this winter & I'm pissed.

I just ordered a new oil pressure switch from Yamiya (sure I had one already but as usual can't find it) as their service has always been great with very quick delivery to New Zealand.
Got an email from them last night saying that as NZ is part of the Ross Dependency Area, they can't send it via their usual super fast service and it now has to go international mail so will be 2-3 weeks. For those who don't know, the Ross Dependency Area is effectively Antarctica !!!! I know NZ is a little place near the bottom of the earth but I don't think we have slipped any further down recently ?
Bit pissed off about that.

Wow, I've never replaced an oil pressure switch on a SOHC4 in over 40 years and probably that many bikes? I didn't know that they ever wore out? Of course, I install oil pressure gauges on most of my bikes, so nothing to be pissed off about.

At my favourite chinese dumpling restaurant, great food, terrible grasp of the English language though, asked for fried dumplings, got steamed, then they tried to argue that was what I asked for, even though I reminded them that I have the same thing 2 or 3 times per week.

They've taken them away so they can all take turns rubbing my dumplings on their private parts, which probably will piss me off..... ;D

Terry, so...why not order some fried dumplings and box the steamed ones for later.  Then take a deep breath and let it out slowly and chant that line from the movie Anger Management...

you'll be needing some ice racing tyres then

well over 30 years ago someone decided to run an exhibition match of ice speedway in melbourne, one lucky guy got the job of putting a self tapping screw through from the inside of the tyre into each knob on the race tyres they use for speedway ( not unlike trials tyres) form memory there were over a dozen bikes, multiply that by a couple of hundred knobs per tyre and that was long before such modern frippery like rechargable drills and screwdrivers , they held it at an ice skating venue and all went well for the first half hour...

now, ice skating venues are not particularly well known for their fume extraction systems whereas speedway bikes run on methanol and are extremely well known for their fume explusion systems

after about the third or fourth race people started getting headaches, by the end of the first hour there were kids throwing up and that was about when they called it off

a valiant effort but there is a reason why speedway is an outdoor sport
i blame Terry

Very true Spotty, even outside on a still day it can be problematic, at the classic at Phillip Island one day it was stinking hot and virtually no wind, and I was developing all of the above symptoms, as much as I love the smell of race fuel in the morning, it can knock you around. ;D

Mmmmmmmm..........A fumes :P I haven't had a fix for a long long time. :(

We did a speedway meeting in the Exhibition Center in the 90's Spotty.
The track was the size of a postage stamp,  it was hilarious.  ;D

Yeah mate, blame Peter Jackson (the director, not the beaut cigarette) he confused everyone into thinking UnZud was full of bloody hobbits and sh1t, so now all the freight companies want more dough for delivering to middle earth! ;D
