Yep, car dealers/repairers are just thieves, full stop. I worked at a petrol station (gas station) that had an attached "service centre" and the guy who ran it, Nick, a nice bloke of Greek extraction had no qualms at all about over-quoting anyone (friends as well) for repairs. You'd take your car in for an oil and filter change, and drive out with new brakes, battery, exhaust, anything that was easy for Nick to remove and throw in the bin. He always had a stuffed one to show the customer if they questioned his integrity. I had him do some work on one of my cars once, and yep, he screwed me too. Oh well, lesson learned.

That's why I'm very wary now when I take a car in for a service. My last service on my Mitsubishi Outlander (last month) ended in me politely telling the service manager to get fcuked when he rang me and dramatically told me I needed all new brake pads, and new rotors, right away. I told him he was full of sh1t, and not to touch the brakes. By the time I picked it up he'd adjusted his story to me needing new brakes in 6-7000 Km (4-5000 miles) so I said I'll think about it in 6 months time when I've done that many miles. I had a quick look at them when I got home (gotta love modern wheels) and there was tons of meat left on the pads, and the discs looked fine. Arseholes.

After a pissy "cost of living" increase only last year, the company I work for are giving everyone a bonus this year, of a couple of thousand bucks, before tax. That means about a thousand bucks, after tax. While any extra money is always nice, 1000 bucks (about $700 USD) doesn't really mean sh1t as a percentage of my salary. I also found out that those who "Exceeded expectations" on their annual reports will receive an extra bonus, of between 5-10% of their annual salary? Hmmnn, I suppose I should have paid more attention when my supervisor was doing my annual report, I suspect that my lack of interest has probably cost me a lot of dough, and that pisses me off........... ;D

The wife says, "There's a squeek in the rear when I'm driving the Toyota Camry." I said, "Hmmm...it only has 74,000 miles on it, and the pads look good, so maybe you should lose some weight."

Hey Dave,
glad to hear you're having good luck w/ the Hyundai's . My son is looking to buy a new car, but I wasn't totally sold on these cars. Don't they have a lot of recalls? and other small problems.?

this September makes 10 years I've been at my job... What really pisses me off is having almost a decade of seniority and still getting mandated for everything because I'm the bottom man in my department.....

You know what really pisses me off? When my GF and wife are arguing and I'm caught in the middle of it again.

I don't know why, but I'm envious of your predicament mate, it reminds me of that Mine collapse a few years ago where one of the rescued miners didn't want to come out because both his wife and girlfriend were waiting for him....... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hahhaa thats a rough spot terry. Ive been seperated from the wife for 3.5 years. Even though we have a 2 year old together.
For a bit i had a GF and wife in "that"sense. It was fun but stressful. I always said im like a fat kid and you both keep feeding me cookies then being mad at me when i eat. Lol. That lasted almost a year.

UPS says my 4-4's are delayed by an emergency or severe weather situation. Last known to be in Harrisburg Pa. heading to Illinois I hope folks are OK and they're just playing it safe.

I knew a girl in Moe who had 5 kids, all named Wayne. I said "doesn't that get confusing?" and she said, "yeah, nah, it's great. When I want them to get out of bed I yell out, Get out of bed Wayne, or when I want them to come in for lunch I yell out Come in for lunch, Wayne, and so on and so forth" Hmmnn, well that did sound like a good idea, but I asked "But what if you just want to call one of them in?" and she replied, "That's easy, I call him by his fathers name..................." ;D

I can do sleight of hand, especially with a head nut. Disappeared right out of my hand over the head. So far it's not in the nickel washer hole and extensive magnet fishing hasn't pulled it out of the crankcase.
Hey Rocky, watch me pull a head nut out of my hat! Nothin up my sleeve, presto!! HMMmm,  No doubt about it I gotta get another hat!

Been there, done that Don. My FJR1300 stole my quarter drive 10mm socket and won't give it back, the baastard! ;D

+100.  I loathe the idiots who are too lazy and/or STUPID to keep their grass clipping out of the road.  I figure those are the same inbred ding-dongs who insist on driving in the left lane and holding up traffic even with the large signs "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT"

No, there was no 10mm socket, no $50, no grass clippings. There was a bit of sludge but nothing I didn't expect except couple of metal shards which I have no idea what they were. I'll leave the pan off until I get the top end cleaned up so anything I drop goes through.
Someone on facebook mentioned dohc 750 have the same oil pan as an auto sohc 750? I find that one difficult to buy, but would be tickled if it were true.

Is an Auto 750's oil pan a good thing to have Don? If so, I'm pissed off that I don't own one! ;D

No, they're huge, have a swinging gate inside and a crazy gasket. And if a PO glues it on you could get a hernia prying that bad boy off again.
The guy that welded my race car's heads last week had cast aluminum oil pans so big I could take a bath in one. They have a defect and the supply chain goes all the way to England. = steady work for a while.

Careful pushin9's, some of our best friends drive on the left side of the road!  But I know who you mean. L0L!

Had to go to court today for a hearing with my ex.

I showered, shaved and tidied my hair before I left home.

Pity my ex did not respect the same attention to detail.

Well now that I'm trim, taut and terrific and my health has returned, (OK, so the VA says I'm now 70% incapacitated, but what do they know?) the Army has been pestering me to do some work for them. I've managed to fill my dance card for the month, Canberra next week, Adelaide the week after, then Back to Canberra the following week, and finally, Darwin the week after that. Luckily only one Sunday in there, as I need every spare weekend day to finish my Swamp Rat CB750 project. As much as it's nice to feel wanted, this is getting ridiculous! ;D

Finding out that my favorite icons, fashion sense, tattoos, mannerisms, and my voice are either.

A) gangster
B) homosexual
C) offensive
D) got me harassed at school
E) all of the above

Kinda annoys me.
