nope...paint is all original....I got 2 cb750 projects going on right now, a kz1000, an rd350, and a couple dirt bikes...so yeah, I need another project ;D  The sale of this one is funding cylinder head rebuilds for the kz1000 and a cb750

WOW, friend discount? you say KZ 1000? I have two buddies that just picked up a KZ900 Eliminator and a kz1000 Eliminator. They have lots of spare parts if thats what you have.
Tews, if your buddies have an extra shifter/sprocket cover to fit a '78 kz1000, that would be great.  This cover is the same from '73 900 til '80 1000 (I think)  The Elinator was a different motor from the mid '80s?, I think, but I never hearrd of a 900 Eliminator...I'm also needing a starter clutch
If it works good, it looks good...

...that project is temporarily stalled.  I had just got it fired up, and swapped a TX500 frontend for dual discs when MI. decided to change the rules for acquiring lost titles.  If you ain't got one, it's hard to get one....so now I am waiting on some flaky friend of a friend to sell me a titled frame/parts bike...

So, 7 years later this bike comes back around.  So the guy I sold it too ended up selling it to another buddy of mine, who then had his license suspended, and stored it poorly .  Now he has his license back and brought it to me to get it road worthy again.

It's sad to see what happens to these bikes when they are not stored properly.  Still, it runs perfect.  Didn't have to touch the carbs or ignition.  Most of the rehab work was due to a couple misguided handle bar swaps that ruined the original switches.  It now has emgo aftermarket...but I got it all working.  Also had to overhaul the front brake and fix the tapered steering bearings that were installed without a spacer on the bottom tree.

The bike now rides like a million bucks... except for the poor ergonomics choice of clubmans with stock foot controls.

Hell yeah...I am hoping my buddy, who lives in the epicenter of good Michigan roads, will learn to ride it, and realize how much can be done with this bike.  I got the parts for him.  He just needs to learn an appreciation for something more than black coated clubmans and emgo garbage.

Its from a 500/550...they use same cover except the screw holes in the case are rotated.

Yeah, although, if you saw it in person 7 years ago, and then today, you would be shocked at the amount of decay.

Sean, it looks like 1972 was the last time my CB was on M22, kinda sad but no regrets. I have been mostly all those places with family in tow, not the CB.

And, nice score on the K6.
