Thankd Magiila, I am excited to get this one completed.  Last weekend I upgraded the ignition with some Dyna 5ohm coils and Charlies Placed electronic ignition and reg/rec unit.  This build is going to be a daily rider which I cn use to take my little girls on short rides.  This time it will be getting a garage paint job, which I hope turns out ok, but will save some coin.  Lucky for me, my dad used to paint cars so he is taking car of all the body work.

There you go again! How'd I miss this? It's looking great (as usual). Whens the cranking date?

Did you blast the frame yourself? Rattle can it with POR15? Knowing your 'standards' how would you describe the paint? I have numero dos to get started on and it ain't going together like the numero uno F did. $ instead of $$$$$$$$$. Blasting cabinet coming up soon. Rattle can perhaps. Going to get it running first with a good engine (1000) then take a second look.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thanks Jerry.  No set cranking date yet but it should be soon.

The frame was too large to fit into my blast cabinet so I stripped it with aircraft stripper, then hit it with a paint stripping disc, followed by a spot blast in my driveway.  I did blast all the other parts in the blast cabinet.  For paint I used the Por15 rust stop chassy coat, this is a  brush on base.  Next - Por15 Rock hard, satin black, frame coat, spray on.  I am more than pleased with the Por15 system, it is solid.  I am not too sure I will powdercoat frame and chassy parts on future builds on future builds, leaning to the Por15 system.  Once the bike is up and running I will get a better idea on longevity of the Por15 system, but when working with parts it seems as durable as powder,.

Was able to make a big dent in the electronics of the CL this Sunday.  Wired up some Dyna coils and electronic ignition.  Happy to get rid of the old points.  Wrapped up the charging system with a gel battery, reg/rect combo unit and all new end terminals on the wire harness.

I couldn't wait to mock up the ceramic coated pipes.

Getting closer to a complete build.  Just need to finish all the wiring and then the initial fire up should closely follow, then carb sync.  All the body work is completed and sitting in primer waiting on some warmer weather to paint the tank, side covers and headlight bucket.

Pipes were in pretty bad shape but had no rust.  The ceramic coating on the pipes and heat shields breathed new life into these old pipes.

I am building this bike so I can take my daughters (6 and 8yo) on rides around town and when we are on vacation.  They both just got their first full face helmets and they are turning up the heat for me to finish this.

Painted, color sanded and buffed.  Really happy with the results of my garage paint job!

Getting real close to completing this one.

Thanks for the good words all!  I am really looking forward to getting this thing finished, looks like next weekend it should be complete.  I have wanted a stock scrambler since I started riding.
