Blue?   Send it back!

The color is irrelevant. It's the correct battery and it fits.

Por lo menos esta mañana la cobertura de alternador dio brillo fuera. Sólo tomó tres en conseguir uno.

iMas detalles por la bateria, por favor!  ?Que es el marque y numero del parte?  ?Donde se la encuentro?

(I think that's right... my Spanish is a bit rusty.)

That cover is SEXY!  I may just have to break out the buffing wheel myself... once I get the carb situation sorted.

Super Deluxe tt, very nice work.  Have a cold one and relax, just a little bump, nothing you can't overcome.

Another day..another issue.

Let's see what problems arise today. Seat is done, fender tomorrow. Another battery on it's way, Ohio Nick is closed rest of week, ordering mufflers.

Searching for exhaust pipes. Looks like Thailand is the only source. Spokes a week out, carburetor still not done. New rubber parts shipped.

Something has to go wrong. I just know it. ::)

I'll just stay out of the shop. No bike issues this way.  ;) I'll make it a TCM day. Cocktails at 1500 hrs.  :P

It went down to this. A very old school Senior fixed the metal. He even removed the lower brace in order to smooth it all out. Welded the lower brace back on.

Then, my body guy filled and smoothed out the fender. We sprayed a little primer on it but with three large areas and even more ripples in the fender we decided to just do it all. About 80% of the fender was in primer.

The best place to grab the original color was under the seat area. Since this was not possible we used the top of the left side cover and matched that. I have not seen it yet but you can only do what you can do. Painter says it matches very well. Over budget on this fender but better than white primer.  ;)

Can't always go by a picture David.  ???

Cleaned and painted the right starter cover.

I always order new OEM screws as it looks so much better. Not that expensive but it does add up.

I removed two of three seals but the transmission seal is a bear. It's tight.  :o

It appears to me that it is rubber with a metal backing. (for lack of a better word) The rubber is actually quite thin.

I'm getting a seal kit on Monday so I thought I would just wait and see what I am working with.

OS, any ideas?

My crank seal (from a 750) has a shouldered edge that keeps it from coming out unless the cases are apart. However, I would imagine this is to combat the pressurized oil that would be at this point. My transmission seal is not shouldered so I don't imagine this one is either. The steel may just be seized into the case slightly.

Thanks IW. Yes, I can get a small pick in behind it but it's in there. I guess after 48 years it would be.  :D

Once you get the replacement seal and verify that its the correct one, then you can sacrifice the original.  You should be able tap a sharp small chisel or flat screwdriver into its surface, puncturing and/or distorting the steel backing plate.  With that approach the seal should be able to be (somewhat) pulled out.  This is a big seal so you have a lot more material with which to do this brutality. :P

Thank you. Waiting on new seal. It's not real thick but yes, a large seal.

Once that gets here I can start assembly of the right side. Honda Restoration made me a deal on a complete seal kit for $25.00. The seal alone was $11.50. When I get to the left side at least I will have new seals. Hoping the crankshaft seal does not leak.  :-\

I located another 305 Dream about two hours from me. Has all the parts and a title. Hoping I can buy it for the right price as it's just a parts bike to me. Several things I can use off of it. Might just do another next Fall.

Seller say's it's a 1965 and it's also in White. :o

Tail light is different so I will check the numbers but would love to have it.

Will see...
