GZ3 wasn't nearly as pissed when he arrived in WVa as he was when he crawled out of that box in KY! He did have a big smile when he left Beckley sitting on the gauges of Prokop's bike. At least he stayed dry which is more than I could say.

I contacted all the chaps from DC, MD and PA.  Based on the weather, the soonest GZ will move on will be this weekend.

Hey guys... I was away for the weekend (at the AHRMA vintage festival in New Jersey), so I've been out of touch for the last few days.
I've got to quickly convert my bike back from race-ready to street legal, but after that I should be ready to ride.

I guess the next hand-off is up in my area?

Unfortunately, GZ is coming at the worst time for me.  I'm available Saturday night and Sunday... other than that I'm not available until the weekend of the 31st!  I might, just maybe, be able to do this Saturday as well... I'll see what I can do and post back.

What days/times work best for the other PA/NJ riders?

Have all that you contacted replied? How far do you think GZ will go this weekend?

I only heard from MoMo and Kickstart.  This weekend depends on the weather, it does not look good.

Hey everyone involved in MID/ATLANTIC handoffs.

DC checking in here. Trying to set up the hand off with 70CB750 this coming weekend. We have big ride planned on Sunday with a local Triumph club trying to blend the handoff in with that. Might grab on Saturday somewhere WEST of DC as we're headed EAST towards the Annapolis from DC.

Baltimore and PA folks think about that some.

Thanks for jumping in, Scott.  I would prefer Saturday hand off, gotta put some serious time in on the bicycle (on Sunday) or I will not meet this years biking goals.

West of DC - Leesburg/Point of Rocks/Fairfax?  Or Maryland?

I PMed 2strokerush, but did  not hear back from him.  MoMo is in Gap, that may be a way?

So are the upper Midwest ones. The first leg of team 6 can't really set it's plans until we can determine when GZ finally leaves NY and makes his way to Ohio.

OK. Since I made the comment about the haphazard nature of this year's rally I am putting my metaphorical moeny where my mouth is. I sent out PM's to Kickstart, Twistedengineering, Vreinhenmotor, Crush, Appostrophe28, Larecords, and Moondog.

Vreinhenmotor will be in Maryland on the 16th through the 20th or 21st. So he can get GZ from Philly to Boston. Maybe Crush can get him towards Albany and Apostrophe28.

Thanks for the effort, but if you read the thread, you would see Kickstart is out.

Also MoMo is willing to participate (Gap, MD) and 2strokerush (Baltimore, MD) signed up too.

Cowboy, here is an idea, if we scratch the handover tomorrow, I could get GZ further north - meaning MoMo - either Sunday or the next weekend.

He said he was available this weekend if I am reading it correctly, which means he could possibly get GZ to the Philly area on Sunday and then possibly hand off to one of the NJ guys or maybe MoMo.

Hey guys, I got 70CB750's text.

If we're trying to get GZ moving up to NY quickly, I might not be much help.
I can be available this Sunday, but that's pretty much it until 8/31 (I'm flying out next Saturday and not returning until 8/28),

So even if I get GZ on Sunday, I'd need to hand him off the same day... otherwise he's coming on vacation with me.
I could still do the pick-up if you guys don't mind waiting until 8/31 for him to continue the trip... or if someone is willing to do a hand-off late on Sunday around Philadelphia.

I hate to say it, but it might be better to let others in my area do the pick-up and hand-off for this leg :(   Maybe I can help out with any gaps in the NY leg after I come back from vacation.

Thanks for checking in, Chris!

I doubt we would be able to find somebody for you to hand GZ over on Sunday,  I think we will go as planned - I pass to cowboy tomorrow and during the week we will find somebody to carry him to New York.

Enjoy your vacation.

Looking at the map, you guys are all pretty close together; there are 7 riders between VA and NYC, and only a distance of less than 300 miles as the crow flies. I realize the road miles are longer there than in the desert Southwest, but you should be able to do it in one weekend without any marathon rides if you do it relay style.

No problem. You still have a chance. GZ is with y2kcowboy and he is busy this weekend. I am sure he will check in to arrange the next stop.

Zilla Team 6 chiming in.  If I follow this correctly, GZ3 will finish up Team 5 in up state NY.  I see mention of Ohio as a next destination.  Did he not go thru the land of hairless nuts... er I mean Buckeyes already??

If you're looking for a place to send him, perhaps an exchange with riders from Quebec and/or Ontario would be a good way to go.

I don't wana step on toes, I'm jumping in a bit late in this.  Just want to get GZ thru Canada, the Great Lakes and Great Plans so that PNW isn't riding thru snowy passes like Team Colorado likes to do ;D
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

*News Flash* the wife and I will be staying very near the downtown area of the Baltimore Inter Harbor next weekend. We'd love to pass GZ off and keep the monster moving along. Post here or PM me if you're interested the handoff.
