Momo, she is #1 in the trailer and the ebay seller really did himself an injustice with his photos. It looks much better than in his photos.
DonR, you are a prince among men with your actions. You are one of the good guys.

It was a pleasure to be of assistance and kind of an adventure too. I've assisted on a couple repo jobs, not my cup of tea but this one was a rescue not a repo.

MoMo,
I think just his head on the pipe or pike as they used to say/do...would be appropriate as a warning to other Uship flakes considering following his lead.

The company I used had a flat and had an axle fail on their trailer and they let me know of the delays. The flat delayed them 1/2 a day as they had actually two flats, whereas the axle failure put them down for two days for a trailer company to rebuild it/replace it for them.
They used a big 17-20 footer with a fifth wheel pull and it had two large side doors.   Not an inexpensive bit of hardware...

Glad you will be seeing your new bike in a few days, depending on their pickup/dropoff schedule...

David, if the "shipper" done that he would have gotten a favorable rating even though he would have been delayed as I had told him I was not in any specific hurry.  I doubt he'll have too much future business...Larry

Well, the new shipper showed up right on time----midnight, but that was fine with me as it has been almost a month since the auction closed.  Big time thanks to DonR and thanks to all for your support and concern.  I plan to ride to work tomorrow so a revue along with photos to follow.  Good night...Larry

Glad you have her home. Looking forward to the photoshoot. Pretty amazing they would deliver that late at night. Driver must be young and hard core to pull long days like that.

Yep, still working full time Steve, which is why I have not had time to take any photos.  Have worked everyday save Sunday since I got the bike and will be working this week except Thur and Sun--on Thursday I will be doing some volunteer work with Home Depot.  I have ordered a set of new tires and the replacement Rifle windshield.  Found a set of Dunlop K555 on Amazon for a shade over $200 shipping included, the windshield was 100 but I will have to pay out of pocket as the insurance was 500 deductible...Larry

Does it have a 15" rear tire? If yes, I find that odd.

17 front and 15 rear.  The rear is fine as I put the bike on the center stand,  trans in 4th gear and revved it close to redline--true as can be, no shimmy while revving or decelerating.  I just got an email from the owner(Jerry), who said the rear tire (a Metzler Marathon) only has 500 miles.   Oh well, at least I will have a matching set of Dunlop K555.

The front tire looks odd, I'll have to get some photos.  Prematue wear of front tires and front end wobble seem to be prevalent with the PC.  Jerry said the last time he replaced the front tire the wobble was minimized but still noticeable...Larry

I'd replace those head bearings.

I'd replace those head bearings.

They do not have any play, bike on center stand with front end raised while grabbing the forks at the bottom--no free play back and forth.  If the new front and rear tires do not solve the problem I may replace the bearings. Looking at the bike I am beginning to think the problem may be inherent-I am starting to believe the bike needs a fork brace, in that there is not any support other than front axle and triple tree. I think there should be support at the top of the lower fork leg other than a plastic fender. Good day

Thanks, Steve.   With all the plastic on the bike I can imagine a days work for stem bearings, especially the first time.  As opposed to 2 to 3 hours tops for a sohc.  Tires should be here any day, after I change them I'll take them to a friend for spin balancing.  I have a stem dampner laying around here somewhere that I may try to incorporate if I have to do the stem bearings, but as noted before they sure seem to be OK...Larry

Re: My new PC is stranded in Youngstown, Il FINALLY ARRIVED
« Reply #69 on: July 31, 2013, 06:21:49 PM »
Well, it finally arrived at midnight Thursday ;D ;D  The shipper told me he would call Thursday to let me know if he'd be here then or Friday.  I was at work when he called at 7:30.  He asked if I was available that night, told him I worked till 10 so anytime after 10;30 would be good.  He said I was thinking more like midnight, said fine with me and sure enough he was right on time.  He had a big diesel dually pulling a rather large enclosed trailer(sorry no pics ) with a car and 3 motorcycles inside, actually could have had more bikes.  The car was a Fiero with a Ferrari kit body and the other bikes were of the dirt variety.  I did him a favor  by taking the deliver at midnight as he would have had to find a place to stay.

No damage to the bike other than the aforementioned missing windshield-already ordered to the tune of 100.  No sense claiming the Uship insurance as it was a 500 deductible.

Looks like a scooter on steroids, doesn't it?  Put some floorboards on and you have a scooter, but 800cc ;D.  It is an 800ccc V-twin, smooth and powerful enough for a 66 year old. Handles fairly well, easy to balance at low speed-I have a 29" inseam and can stand flat foot  at a stop. Very comfy seat, easy to put on the centerstand, excellent seat/handlebar position.

Even comes with a bra ::)

A mini glove box :D

and a trunk ;)

Last a front tire that is causing a serious wobble ??? ???

Various photos

Again, thanks for all your support and concern, especially to DonR(the R stands for repoman)....Larry

Looks good Larry, don't think I've ever seen one. How's it run other than the wobble?

And the big question: Would you do it again?

Very nice MoMo!  The bike looks better than the ebay photos.

I always liked the Pacific Coast, but I have not had the pleasure of riding one.

Do the saddlebags have internal removable bags?

Steve,  other than the WOBBLE it is the perfect bike for me. I commute to work and if I need to stop at a store there is ample storage.  I used to use the Silverwing but this is much smoother, more powerful and better handling(of course it is 17 years newer ::))  I have never seen one either, from research I've done there were only14000 made during the 10 year production run.  One list I found said there were only 50 made the last year(1998 which is my year).  There seems to be a small cult-like following.   I would do it again as long as I had a good, reputable shipper lined up.  I was fortunate that the owner allowed me to keep the bike there until shipping was arranged and that DonR rescued the bike...Larry

David,  if you're ever in the area you'd be welcome to ride mine(hopefully wobbleless by then ;))   No liners inside the trunk.  The PC is an odd looking bike but it grows on you the more you see it.  The finish is very nice and it will really look good once it is detailed(if I ever get around to it ???...Larry

14,000 made over 10 years? Surprises me that so few over that long span.
By comparison, there were approx 80,000 Z1's made over only 3 years.

That is what we found on the internet(and you know it must be true because they can't put anything on the internet that isn't true)...Larry
