There are plenty of places to get good beer that is draft.  If you explore your area I am sure you would find microbreweries.  I have 10 or 12 within a 20 mile radius of me.

Those who think American beer tastes like piss have clearly not experienced much American beer.

+1 Most countries have some excellent beer... they are just not always the big name ones.

Never met an American who had draft beer in Czech who would say - "not bad, but we have this small brewery in my town...."  - and it is the common beer, you can buy it in every pub, not some fancy and special brew concocted on a moonless night by limping dwarf.

maybe, but I am sure there are Czechs who would then argue that it is garbage.  I never said you couldn't get good beer at a grocery store, just that there is more to beer than PBR or Miller.  Personally, I drink bud light the majority of the time and have no quarrels with those who prefer Sam Adams, Anchor Steam, UFO, Sierra Nevada, Abita, or any other full body beer, all of which one could get across the US.

Here is the secret, the taste of beer on draft depends on the handling - from pipes to the bartender, assuming it is a decent beer to start with.

Every so often I find something drinkable - like IPA:

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/743/21324

or as you said, various small breweries, but the common and cheap beer is just that, American beer.  Is it true that it used to be better till WWII and than the beer got weakened for the female labor force in war production?

Like the biggest joke, Anheuser Bush after tasting Budvar decides to brew good beer in USA - and creates the common Budweiser beer, LOL!

Beer taste is very subjective, you really can't tell someone their favorite beer taste like piss
(Well, you can but that's pretty rude!)

Europeans have much different opinions than most Americans, prolly why 70Cb prefers his beloved Czech beer (I bet it's good)

A lot of Americans love Aussie Fosters beer, most Aussies won't drink it! Subjective.

I think, perhaps with 'but'as the proper conjunction.

And I think there must be someone unlikely person who flys in their own Fosters Australians, but all we get now is called Fosters Imported.

Yes, absolutely.  Same here.

Lone Star beer is a Texas institution, marketed as "The National Beer of Texas".  It was cheap and the cowboys drank it.  Now it has become the hipsters beer of choice.
I still don't buy it.

Because of diabetes I drink diet ice tea, or Powerade Zero. Since I have a little frig in garage it makes it easier to just grab and work. I do keep some Japanese Asahi beer for my friends. It's imported only in the big cans, the smaller cans are brewed under license by Molson of Canada.

Kalamazoo Michigan has Bells brewery. A ice cold bottle of Two Hearted ale hits the spot. Gormet coffee in the morn though.

PBR because I can get a case of 30 for $15. Or if I'm feeling rich I'll spring for something like Sierra Nevada. I like IPAs.
