Nice you got it out for a leg stretch. Other then a local member I see here in Kazoo its been a very long time since I have seen a triple out on the road or any two stroke for that matter. Don't forget to stretch out the Kaw 750 triples legs a little also !

Hey Eric... unfortunately, there is a small issue with the H2.  About a month or so ago, the wife complained about a gas odor in the garage, her sense of smell is unparalleled! Turned out the vacuum operated petcock had succumbed to the effects of the evil ethanol fuel. Pulled the tank and after a quick internal inspection, was very disappointed to see rust in the tank.  New petcocks are NLA but there are rebuild kits, need to order one and then address the rusty tank. Thinking of going the Evapor-Rust route, will do it once the temps cool a bit. My garage was 98 degrees yesterday! Outside was 107...
Any kind of a Pingel or other type of non vacumm operated option out there for the H2 ?  I bought a non vac set-up for my T500 just because it had gone bad. I mean c'mon man it was only fifty years old !  :)

There may be a Pingel out there that could be retrofitted but this is a very unique petcock, has 4 bungs.

This is a spare that I have and is in immaculate condition, just need the rebuild kit, plan to order it from Jess, $98!

https://jessbikes.com/product/kawasaki-h1h2kh500-petcock-rebuild-kit-most-complete-kit-on/

What really sucks is the existing petcock was rebuilt just 6 or so years ago when the bike was restored...

I hope the rubber diaphragm and other rubber bits are Made in Japan.

I love the small ones too !

Yeah it slipped my simple mind that there had to be a more complicated petcock to feed all three carbs. Cool looking piece of hardware. A single outlet with ugly splitters might not be able to keep up with the gas flow on that thirsty beast anyways. Remember its just money and they will keep printing more !
PS- I like the grain and color of that wood the petcock is laying on, hopefully its real.

First ride. Amazing machine. Porky, but silky smooth and quick! Once it’s moving, it has wings. Great brakes too, typical Honda.

It's real!  Was a countertop in a sushi restaurant in Austin that I repurposed as my desk when they changed it out for marble. [it's 2" thick with a live edge]

Petcock rebuild kit ordered.

One of the four outlets is for the vacuum connection on carburetor #3. This is not needed for a gravity fed Pingel (you just block off the vacuum inlet on the carburetor). The three outlet Pingel doesn't look too bad. One issue is the Pingel outlet sizes are larger than the carburetor inlet sizes, which I solved by using brass inline connectors with two different sizes.

This photo shows the method I used to block the carburetor vacuum inlet:

Thanks....but since I have a nice spare OEM petcock, I'm going with that.
Nice to know there is an option though.

Great bike John, I've been looking for a good (affordable) one for years. Keep an eye on your crappy OEM auto cam chain tensioner and don't "blip" the throttle too much, or you'll be sorry. Buy an APE tensioner and it'll run forever. ;D

Speaking of Porky, I took my Rocket III for it's first ride in several weeks, due to a miserable winter, and some recent surgery. Most enjoyable riding this torque monster, even at legal speeds. ;D

Which Rocket is that? The one you and Spotty recently repaired?
All old issues fixed?

It must be a fantastic long touring machine.

Thanks Per, this one has been in the family from new. My brother ordered it for his 50th birthday present in 2007. He wanted one built as close to his birthday (July 7) and it was built the day after, which is my wife’s birthday.

Two years after buying it he ran into financial difficulties so rang me and asked if I’d buy it. I asked him how man kilometres it had done, and he said, “18”. “18000?” I asked? “No, 18 kilometres”, he replied. He hadn’t ridden a bike since the 70’s, and the power and weight of the thing had scared him sh1tless, so he’d just tidden it home from the dealership and parked it in his garage.

He offered it to me for less than half what he’d paid for it, as he needed the money to keep the bank from taking his business, so I flew to Whyalla in the South Australian outback and rode it home the 1300 Km over the weekend. The Triumph dealer couldn’t believe that I was bringing it in for its first service when it was over two years old! I replaced the stock exhaust with a Jardine pipe, installed a K&N filter and fitted a new Power Commander 3, then had Melbourne Triumph dyno it, and was impressed with 140 BHP and 147 foot pounds of torque.

The Rocket 3 that Spotty and I are bringing back to life still has a few electrical issues to sort out. I’ve ordered a new “Ozclaw” intake scoop to go with the “Ramair” filters, and my next big purchase will be some drop in cams, which, with the Jardine pipe and an ECU reflash, should give it about 190 BHP and 160 foot pounds of torque. Should be fun. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I got the 84' Sabre 700 out for 60 miles. It was grey and overcast but but it didn't rain while I was out. The rest of the week is supposed to be morning clouds and afternoon sun. I'll try to get a decent ride in every day.

Rode with four buddies in Northern Ontario, 1,060 kilometres. Through Algonquin Park, over to Barry’s Bay, and Calabogie. Followed a “Ride the Highlands” route called “The Pick-Axe Loop” for +400 kilometres of gravel roads, logging trails and fire routes. Blue skies and sunshine for three days. What a hoot and my new-to-me Honda Varadero is a keeper!

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the results. Its no different here, FJR's not a problem finding, their just high mileage. But FZ's (this generation) you don't see at all, and when ya do they're absolute trash. (Ask me how I know)
I gotta admit, it's incredibly smooth, I spent several days sorting out the k&n stage 1 jetting kit, and now once it hits 7k, whooosh...... it's good below 7k, ya can drag it down to 2k and roll into the throttle and it pulls cleanly, then once it hits 7k, ya better have a serious stretch of open road ahead of ya. My only problem riding these days is deer, and it doesn't matter the time of day, they're all over the place.
