It was the times.. Everyone was buying headers
Japan 4 got into a hp race..bikes came stock with 4-2 or 4-1...cheaper to build..
Soon there was no turning back..
The day i took several sets to the dump.. I said I will have to wait 15 years till these are worth something..... That was 30 years ago now...
People were cutting minty 341 mufflers off and tossing them.. Today you would gladly cut your rotted ones off, weld them on, cover weld with silver heat paint.. And ride it..

My local chrome plater (a very large operation) looked at me like I was crazy when I told him that used exhaust cannot be plated due to solution contamination (read this on this forum). He said they just keep pulling the pipes out of the cleanup bath till they come out clean. They do a lot of cycle and auto restoration work. Says the only problem with plating an exhaust is to get even coverage on odd shapes. He quoted a price of approximately $700 to $800 for a set of HM341's.

Yes, CenTex Plating, that's the only one I know around here.
Have used them a few times for work stuff, I'll be pulling my K4 mufflers off soon to bring to him.
David is the owner........512-444-4721.
The place is filthy and looks disorganized but I've got good service and A+ workmanship, not cheap though.

This appears to be the tendency of most good shops .... the owners are usually eccentric. I went to a Norton dealership in the 70's to get a new transmission case for a friend as a bearing had run through the case ... the shop was a complete mess and I don't know how he knew where anything was ..I had not taken out the gears and shafts and he was pi**ed off at that ... he threw the transmission across the shop ... then he gave me a new transmission complete with gears and shafts ... I was quite amazed being a young fella at the time ... my understanding he is the same way today.

Yeah, those guys. They did a bunch of small stuff for my rebuild. Only thing I wasn't satisfied with were the star clamps for the headers. David explained that they would have to fabricate a special cage with a anode between each finger of the star. Most of the chrome goes to the tips. It's already started corroding in the valleys. I'm still happy with them and will use them again.

Their new set of mufflers are currently not available.

I have a Yamiya order coming soon too. You can not beat their shipping. Always packed well and I hate to say it, but their shipping is faster than some places in the USA.

They told me I can order something not in stock and as long as it's in my basket it will ship/bill when it comes in. So far I haven't figured out how to put a set of no no's exhaust in my basket.

I scored a repro ducktail seat last month while they were 20% off, but not in stock. Still got the discounted price, and it ships later this month!

Yamiya has 19% off on Yoshi 4-1 replica.
It's very addictive to shop online with PayPal! I have purchased a lot the last 2 years to my money pit (CB750).
The acceptance for costly parts is increased since the good bikes cost more and more to purchase, important parts as OEM 4-4 mufflers and tank usually have issues. New needed, just pay and forget, enjoy the good new look of the bike!

On Dynoman's site its also possible to make a test order and verify total with shipping cost, delete all parts and wait until its time to set it for real.

Greggo...you will really like the Yamiya ducktail. I got mine from there back in 2007 and the quality is superb. I got the red foarm and that is the most comfortable seat I have here. I am lucky that the 69 KO I am doing now has a great ducktail. I would doubt it is original, but I bet it is a Honda seat the guy bought back when they were still in stock. I just can not say enough about the quality of the parts I have bought from them. Wish they would open up a store in the states.

Yep, their quality is second to none. I think this is my fourth or fifth order from them for my sandcast. As has been pointed out in other threads, they are probably the best source for transmission bearings too.

Since this first post I grabbed a set of Yamiya's off ebay and have bought two and a quarter sets of them from DSS, one set of which I sold back to him on a bike.

Busso was on facebook looking for deposits on making a run of 4-4's. I never heard an answer to the question if they would be no no 300's or 341's. Most of the response to the poorly translated post was no F'n way, sounds like a scam. I assumed they had made the CMSNL mufflers I got, but maybe they were made by PMC.
I believe M-Tec Chukyo makes the Yamiya pipes and they also make or market the black repro Yoshi Daytona style pipes.

Yup, I check it every day. Also DSS, Yamiya, CMSNL, M-Tec and PMC at webike. The Webike price fluctuates with the currency exchange rate.
I've seen them as low as $1100 recently but still out of stock and they have never sent me an email notification I signed up for.

Has anyone ever drilled the 341 baffles? I'm sure back in the day it was common to hole saw out the back baffle and probably more. I won't but am curious. My brother remembers the 300 pipes and sawing the end off of those baffles.

I’m feeling lucky I picked up a set of Yamiya “no number, roots pipes” that were for sale here, a few months ago! They finally arrived from Alberta a few weeks ago and are lovely.

As an aside; the Busso pipes I installed on my Benelli SEI are perfect replicas of the originals. They are stunning. But, I have never heard of anyone hat actually bought a set of their CB750K 4-4 pipes......
