Looking for a clean set of handlebars for a '77 Matic.  If not, does anyone know where you get the codes for the correct set? I see different codes for the bars but not sure how I find out which is correct.  (I see H718 all the time and it seems to look the same).  Don't mind polishing a set, but if they are deeply scratched I can just get mine re-chromed.

Thanks!

Hi Bokeh,

The part number for the 1977 Hondamatic 750 handlebars is 53100-393-770.  It shows that those handlebars are the same on the 1977 and 1978 Hondamatics.  When I got my 76 it had the wrong set of handlebars and the brake master cylinder wouldn't fit on the right side because it wasn't long enough after the bend.  I ended up putting 1978 bars on it and it worked good.

Thanks.  I have the part number but when I see used parts they always have that strange coding that I cant decifer.  I see different codes listed for the same year/models.  I have a set for the '76 also. On my '77 they are in a little rough shape and trying to swap them for a clean set.  It may be the sellers part numbers but even the pics for the same year seem to look like the rise is a little different.  Just hard to tell from the pics.

Thanks Again.

When I put the 78 bars on my 76 I didn't notice that the rise must have been higher than the 76 bars because my 14 inch brake line would not reach from the junction to the brake reservoir on the bars.  Had to go get the 78 brake line to make it work.  I know what you mean by not being able to tell from the pictures.  The guy that bought these bars that were on the bike when I got got hood winked.

Birdman,  If you are still looking for a right side control (Kill switch etc.)  I noticed that the 75,76,77 GL1000 looks to be the same (I believe the GL bars are 7/8" same as the Matic).  Saw a few on Fleabay.  Don't know if the color coding is different but may be worth checking out.  To all -  the connectors are different between the 76 750A and the 77/78.  On the 76 (same as on the GL Models above each wire has a male connector ; not one connector for all the wires as the 77/78 750A).  Thought I would mention that for anyone  else looking. Could still be used but a little extra wiring work would be needed.

Thanks for all that information Bokeh,

I ended up getting the kill switch from the same guy that sold me the 78 wiring harness so I am cooking with gas now.

How much are you asking for the 76 carbs?  How much for the starter?

Guy in Fowlerville,  Michigan (between Detroit and Lansing) has a Lester front rim and drilled rotor.  He did not list as a Lester so you may pick up a good deal if you are local.

Still got those hondamatic carbs up for grabs. Can also have them rebuilt for you for a few extra $ (don't think they need it though).

Hi All: As you may know in 1977 the CB750A came in 2 colours; Red and Blue. I have one of each The Red one has 8,014 Original Miles on it and the Blue one has 12,885 Original Miles. Both motorcycles are in running condition. I have owned both for around 20 years. Time to let someone else enjoy them. Asking $6,000.00 CDN$ for the pair or $3,500.00 CDN$ each. For you American Guys this should be a sweet deal considering how well the US$ is doing right now. As you may have guessed I am up in Ontariariario, Canada. If you want to ride on something rare and unique then the Hondamatic can fit that bill. :)
Cheers!! Harry

Two hondamatic drag bikes on craigslit in Illinois near St. Louis.  One has an ATP turbo kit as well.  Not my bikes,  just thought I would post a heads up if anyone may be interested.
