Got a 76 750A parting out.  Have most everything (Headlight was missing) but keeping some things.  It was a barn find.  I am keeping the rims, seat pan,  and handlebars.  Forks looks OK with a little pitting only above the lower brace (and of course needs new fork seals (work fine but see a crack on one).  Does have the Kick Starter Lever.  Only thing I was able to test is that I could not get it to shift.  Chain is gone It had a lotta surface rust so I started soaking in Penetrating Oil and gave it to a friend here who is rebuilding a 77.

FYI - There is a seller on ebay with 5 original NOS 77/78 Honda tool kits and 5 NOS 76 CB750A toolkits.  Just look up "Honda 750 New Tool Kit 1976 Only CB750A"

I did sell My "A" and I see the guy drive by once in a while, He is taking the bike farther towards a restoration than I wanted to. very nice work. I still have a K5 set of round top Carbs and cam, along With Mother Honda Gasket kits, Lift arm boots, Needle and seats, Intake tubes ( to air cleaner ) and a K model set of intake rubbers( to Head )  The carbs are disassembled and dipped and ultrasonic cleaned and ready to reassemble. All holes are clean and no striped threads. The carbs look quite nice. When I took off the bowls there has been water in them at some time in there life and there is some corrosion of the inside but nothing that would affect the operation. I could reassemble them or leave them apart for your inspection and assembly. The Honda parts alone are  $200 and I Bought the carbs, cam and manifolds from a gentleman here  so I need to get $200 for the lot. Is anyone interested.

Re: FOR SALE - A Parts/Bikes-1978 750A engine
« Reply #8 on: May 10, 2014, 07:24:00 am »
Complete engine, minus carbs and insulators, off a 1978 CB750A. Turns over with electric starter.  I bought it 3 years ago for the carbs and insulators. Figured I use it someday, but now it is time for spring cleaning. The guy I bought it from said it was in a barn for many years and needs an upper gasket set, oil pan gasket and the valves cleaned and seated. Located in Northern Illinois about 30 miles NW of Chicago. Local pick by you and your shipper.

I have that exact set mounted on my K8. Excellent way to stretch your legs on a long ride. Wouldn't part with mine, even if I sell the bike I'll keep them for one of the others! Lucked out and spotted mine on Ebay for the mighty sum of $15! Still kicking myself for letting them sit for three years before mounting them.

Good luck.

Anybody still using this section? I have a '76 CB750A that I am parting out, or selling as a 80% complete parts bike.
Issues:
No title
Engine seized
Missing carbs
Missing exhaust
Missing rear wheel

Good stuff:
Minimal rust
No rips or tears in the seat
Uncut, unmodified
Has most/all of the "A" specific parts including the kick starter (which I need to confirm is for the '76 and not the '77/'78)

Make me an offer. I am in Portland, OR and would love to sell it as a whole.

Unfortunately I think I have 4 side covers that are all beyond repair.

Guessing the seat and tank would be cost-prohibative to ship, but you're welcome to get a quote from 97213 if you want

Thought I would share - Looks like the Goldwing kick starter strap for the 75, 76, 77 wing fits the Hondamatic perfectly to hold down the kick lever under the seat.  Just got one today and it looks like it was made for it. I just purchased a second.  from this lady she has three left. They are new straps she had made,  not old stock that has been sitting for 35 years. Listing says she had 500 made so I would expect she has more then what the auction states.
