I am very happy with the CR29's for the race track. That said, my guess is the CR26 would be a better choice for most applications. At RPMs below 5,000 if I snap the throttle open the motor goes instantly lean. The good news is even on the race track you rarely snap the throttle open unless you are running it to redline on a straight. Most of the time you are rolling the throttle on as you drive out of corners. My motor is a hot street motor, not a full on racer. I am making 48 to 49 HP at the rear wheel depending on the day and which dyno is used.
My motor has JE Pistons at 10.5:1 compression ratio, Webcam 358b, Serdi valve job, oversize valves, KPMI springs, Ti retainers, with stage 1 porting by M3 Racing.
