What's the advantage of TIG welding this kind of stuff over MIGing it?

On a tank it's either tig or  brazing for me. Mig welding has a very cold starting temp and produces very inconsistent welds. Usually with a mig welded tank the starts and stops can leak. Unfortunately mig weld is cheap and easy. I take all of my tanks and reweld all of the seems with the tig. Also any light(0.050 and under) tanks will crack from vibrations. Welding causes a lot of different stresses to a weld area and the high heat hardens non air-hardening steels making them brittle. Brazing is done at a lower heat and spreads the stresses out over a larger area.

Thanks for the informative reply! I'm currently in welding school and I see my teacher TIGing on headers and all sorts of parts. He even had a scratch made tank that he TiGed and was just wondering why. Thanks

You do such nice work! You got me on the 2 screws and brass plates, what's he gonna do with that?
Guess I can wait n see since you can cut it and finish it in less time than it takes to explain it.
Really nice work.
