Thank you. Today i managed to make some nice pictures at one of my favourite places (for doing some photography with your bikes

) 120km later, i can show you this:

And yeah, guess i will stick to the mirrors. Bar end mirrors does not suit a high handlebar and already have two bikes with a lower, more racing style handlebar. So i do as the title says and stay classy.

I don't think so too be honest. Aside from mine, i have never seen one on the street until now. Sometimes i see a 500 oder 750, but it seems that the 550s are quite rare here too.

After some thinking i tried out a left over m - handlebar and immediately fell in love with the new look

Ok, driving is a little bit less comfortable, but i don't mind that...At least not now

Hi Harii....those do not look like the Norman Hyde M handlebar.....

Cause they are from Fehling. Got them for a nice price and originally intended to use them on my current built, the GS 750. A guy from germany who i know from a caferacerforum put some work into the bar end signals, so that i can use them in combination with these bars. He had to change a few things, cause the bars have a smaller inner diameter than usual (16mm). For now i will therefore stick with it. I can easily change to a different bar without any problems in the future, especially if the burden on the back gets to high.

It's been a while, but here are some news.
I changed the handlbar again, first back to the original one, then to a slightly higher one from LSL. Since yesterday, i am also the proud owner of a stainless steel exhaust system from Scheibel (completly legal exhaust).
And before i forget, i also updated the fuse box

Beautiful bike! I just read through the whole thread. I think it looks great but prefer the shape and look of the original pipes.

+1...the 550F pipes are what make the bike! Why the change?

That is a stunning build but I too am a fan of the original pipe/muffler. Hard to find and yours looked in exceptionally good/perfect shape!

You have created a very beautiful example of the CB 500-550. I have a roller frame that will need all the body parts (tank, sides, bars, lights, etc) and your build(s) are pretty much the area I would aim for. My frame is a 1978 CB550K though.

What year is your Supersport?

Sorry for the late answer. It has been some time since i visited this forum

I changed the exhaust system because i the muffler is rusting from the inside and i found a hole... Broke my heart too be honest. The new stainless steel exhaust system is from Scheibel, a german brand which no longer exists and quite hard to get. Although it does not look as good as the original one, iat least it sounds better.

By the way. Here is short video of the bike from todays ride into the weekend

It's been some time, but here is a little update for you. Again, please excuse my poor english skills!

I exchanged the original carburator for the PD51A model with velocity stacks from a CB 650. I just love the look and sound of this new carburator and after visiting a professional mechanic with a test bench it works quite well.
