That is a nice bike.  Does look like he waisted time riding it before sending it off to ebay.  Exhaust is raw no paint.

Sorry bumping this after a while. I need to confirm Lesters use stock size wheel bearings before ordering them. Can someone please confirm?

Since when did the value of Lesters meet up with the value of a Kimtab magnesium wheel. Oh, wait, they never did, never will. Guy's dreaming if he thinks he will get $900 for a pair of Lesters. I think Jags link to one is more in the range of what they are worth. Guy had it at $199 and no one wanted it so now he's just taking offers for it.

The standard asking price for a set of Lesters with a 18 rear has been $1000 for a long time now.
Single wheels pop up from time to time, but a set brings more money as people don't want to piece them together.

The 19 front was used on MANY bikes so the value is lower.
The 16 rear is worthless to most

Fact is the 18 rear is hard to come by and guys want them.

I have not seen a set 19/18 list/sell for "cheap" in a while.

Is what it is.

I've never seen a 19/18 set for sale together on eBay only here.  The 18 rear wheels definitely go for a premium.  I got my NOS 19/18 for about $800.

They pop up from time to time on ebay.

Often the listing is ended and private deal is made.

An 18" front is the ultimate rare bird for someone who wants 18" front and rear. I have only ever seen one other one for sale at it went for $300, fast.

+1, another great thing about these forums, most put others' needs over greed. The member who sold me his pristine 19/18 set posted here first for about that price, can't wait to get it all done ;)

It is true, the 18" rear is insanely pricey, and in all honestly looks a lot more balanced with the 19" front IMHO.

The 16 rear is for choppers and comes with a decrease in performance.
Not that the Lesters are a race wheel.

I just saw a photo of Folsoe's 18" Lesters.  I think that's a great price for 18" front and rear Lesters.  SUPER RARE.  They are used but will clean up nice.  I just cannot afford the shipping from Denmark!!

It's funny.  I saw you bragging about getting a Kimtab cheap, so maybe the Lesters are more valuable than the Kimtabs.  These things aren't made of gold and subject to standardized values based on weight.  They are worth what they sell for on a particular date and time.  They are not the measuring stick of motorcycling excellence either.  Some would regard a running motorcycle more valuable than a static collection of rare parts.  I would.

I acquired my NOS Lesters for approx. $800.  That is way cheaper than a set of newly-built, aluminum-rimmed wheels.

The reason I got my Kimtab for $300 was because the guy selling it had no idea what it was worth. He only had it listed as a "Motorcycle Rim" with no Kimtab keywords that would have directed anyone searching to the wheel. You say " subject to standardized values based on weight." The Kimtab is magnesium and weighs 8lbs, are more rare than Lesters in quantity made. Why would a wheel half the weight and fewer in number be worth less? Granted there are people with more money than sense who will pay anything. The Lesters listed for $1000 in Canada may be there awhile. There are 6 listings on eBay for  various Lesters  right now, guess how many Kimtabs there are? That's right, none.
