Well, that was fun.  Thanks to Danny for making this happen and to all that showed up. It was great meeting some friends and acquaintances again and making new ones. Combine that with a great ride to and from, there isn't much more to ask for.

Here are some photos in no particular order, along with three videos at the end, including Jerry's start up vid.

GZ 1 and the Pimposaurus stripped of his finery.  I thought about asking Wilbur if he would like me to take Lefty to the gathering, but I never followed through.  Too bad.

Some moving pictures with a little comic relief.

Ofreen, incredible pics. To iterate, thank you Danny. A better time was never had. I can't believe we didn't run into you somewhere along the line in the great SW. Stunning, desolate beauty.

Excellent Greg.

I tried posting up 4 pics of the new bikes 3 times as you showed me but it didn't like me. I did the text then clicked attach, got the pic then did it 3 more times. Once with review - nothing - then with post - nothing. At least the engine worked LOL and it sounds good.

Jerry, if the file size (or combined size if you have more than one) of the picture is too large the post won't go through and it will keep coming back to the empty text entry box. Try posting the text only. Then go to the post and click the modify button and add the pics. I have never had it reject a photo that way regardless of  the file size.

Made it home last night after viewing the Eclipse in Paducha, KY.  Probably the most miserable soaking rain I've ever experienced.  Got stuck sitting creeping over the Evansville, IN bridge over the Ohio River for well over an hour in soaking rain and thunderstorm.  Car crash on bridge completely clogged up the area.

But made it home safe with over 3300 miles on the Guzzi in 10 days.

Have got to figure out my tire situation...this last Metzler ME880 has already squared off and needs replaced with roughly 5K miles on it.  Time to research and try out something new.

Rose and I had a great time meeting everyone.  Hopefully we'll see you all next time riding a honda  ;D

Made it to Albuquerque yesterday after a very long day.  The ride down the Coronado Trail Parkway was amazing. My upgraded front brake got a serious workout and the views were spectacular.

Overall the bike ran well, but it wouldn't be mine if I didn't have some excitement. The run down the trail was flawless. Then after topping up with gas I got about 1/4 mile and the oil feed line came out the back of the pressure gauge and sprayed oil all over the front of the bike. That caused a 40 min delay or so as I used an entire can of brake cleaner to make sure there was no oil on my rotor or brake pads. Fortunately that seems to have worked out as the brake works fine.

Then a few hours later, just outside a small town I had to switch over to reserve even though I only had about 95 miles on the tank. I turned around and went back to town only to find that the sole gas station had closed and that all the pay at the pump readers were out of order. The clerk that was closing out his register took pity on me and took cash and let me almost top off. When I came out fuel was streaming out the #1 carb overflow again, so I surmise that it was leaking while I was riding, which is why I hit reserve so soon. A few raps with a pliers seemed to settle it down and I was able to finish the ride to ABQ.

I am going to drop the bowl again today and do some more work on the dimple. But for the rest of the ride I am going to have to pay careful attention.

Here's a couple pictures from the ride.

Danny, a thought. Try swapping float needles and seats between 2 carbs and see if the overflow follows?

I bet that girl will have 3-4 x what everyone else has ridden by the time she reaches home.

Aparently federal DOT regs state you cannot alter a helmet witth anything that sticks more than 2/10 " over the original helmet surface.  Georgia is cracking down on this, they are in the warning stage giving riders with gopros or other things on their helmets papers showing the federal mandate (DOT I think) and will begin ticketing for it after some time period has passed.  So, go pros and Senas or bluetooth receivers that mount on a helmet are now a "no no"...imagine that.
At least the stupid mohawks will disappear, I hope.

How many iron butt length distances will she have completed by the time she makes it home?

Danny, what would plugging the overflow line do?  If it would not flood the carb & cylinder that could fix your fuel economy problem.

Just double the end of the drain line over and lash it with some thread or lightweight string, or use some mechanics wire from your tool pouch...  you do have a small bit of mechanics wire in the tool collection you carry don't you?

Are you planning on ordering some new floats when you get back home?  Or do you need one mailed to you at a location you will be traveling through in a couple days?  You could return it later.  Small flat rate box is still around $6 right?

Danny,
Remember all the black sediment we found in number one carb bowl?
If you find more, consider replacing the black fuel lines you have.  They may be deteriorating inside from a prior fuel treatment additive...or just moden gas.
Sediment will trump the float tang dimple for overflow cause, I think.

How do you feel about your oil pressure gauge improvement now?    ;D

Fuel line is an interesting thought. I think my friend here has some that will work, if not there is an AutoZone and an O'Reilly close by.

As far as the pressure gauge goes, I will only say that it had one when I got it, just not that one.

I tried to go auto parts store route on fuel line and it is so much thicker walled tubing than stock. That makes getting it through the carb rack brackets into the carb fuel nipple a pain and you will have to use the auto parts store hose clamps, go for the solid ones, not the perforated type.
If you can find a Honda dealer then pick up the correct line, or visit a small engine repair shop...their hose tends to be thinner walled tubing.

The Honda stock stuff is an off size. ,what I like is you can run it without clamps usually.

The fellow who sells the oil pump rubber cup also sells fuel line. It's clear and the correct size. I'm using it and it works fine. I also found some spring fuel clamps on ebay that fit well.

Cheers,
The black debris in the float bowl may have also come from a deteriorating rubber disc in the petcock, given the reports of overflowing even after being turned off?
Danny, when going down the road, the float needle is partially open, just enough to match the fuel being drawn by the motor. If something happens to find it's way into that small gap, whether from the tank, petcock, or fuel line, it gets pinched into place between the needle and it's seat as the float rises. If the bowl is drained, the float and needle will drop, and incoming fuel may flush the now free bit of debris to fall to the bottom of the bowl, allowing normal float/needle operation. If the debris is coming from the petcock, turning it off and on may dislodge more material each time, repeating the cycle. Does the petcock indeed leak in the off position with the fuel line removed?
