Talk about perseverance ! Looks like the first CB750 I ever owned. Wonderful job. I did not see it in the posts, did you get exhaust pipes from David Silver and are they HM no number model?

pipeguy and MickB,

Feel free to give a quick summary of your build -- what you started with, what you did, etc. -- preferably with some photos!!

Well, sort of. Here's a suggestion (and only a suggestion, not a requirement).  The point of summary is to shortcut having to re-read the complete build thread.  Something more in line with:

I found the 197_ CB_50 in a field with weeds growing through it.  I bought it for $0 including a bin of rusty parts.  It looked like:
[PIC]

I rebuilt the motor using the following components, I stripped the bike down to the bare frame, etc.

I ran into a few snags but got through them with the help of ______ (members, pro builders, scotch, beer).

And she ended up looking like this:

[PICS including maybe more then the paucity of photos currently available]

Ok, here we go, I just wanted a resto project to work with my son, talked to a heavy equipment mechanic at work about my desire, he with my luck said he had a friend that wanted to give him a bike. But since he has been working for years on his Ariel square four, he wasn't interested. So he asked his buddy and he got it for me for a case of beer. It was rough and all in pieces except for seized frame, definitely not a roller! Lol. Engine components were in a shed and bike was just put outside for a couple of years. I was just going to hold on to it for parts and find a better condition bike. But once I joined this forum and started to investigate what a K0 was I started to get excited!! Wife not too thrilled! Once I picked the tank and it was the original wrinkle tank, I made up my mind to rebuild it. Everything was replaced, fork seals, tires, bearings, pistons, 0.25mm bore job,all engine seals, lapped valves etc. I think I did more reading and videos than actually working on bike lol. But feedback was incredible on this board!

I also did all work myself including bodywork, the only thing I didn't do was the boring on cylinders, my friend Steve rebulit master cylinder and cleaned the carbs in his ultrasonic cleaner, and bench tested them, and bike ran nice right off the hop! Will have to take it down to his place to synch them perfect once I fix my cam problem!
