I had a list on the other thread, about 4 or 5 locations!
We can judge the interest in each and then plan accordingly.
 Here is a few.
East of the  Mississipi.. .........Gilmore  Bike Show, Hickory Corner, MI  June 10.
SOHCtoberFEST...........Oct.
 West of the Mississipi
Bonneville, ...?.last week of Aug and runs into Bonneville GP nearby.
 West Coast
 HARVEST classic Luckenback TX ..........Oct

The folks you meet will likely become strong friends and a special bond was formed by many of those in attendance.. maybe the best part.

Interested to see where this goes.  There's a good chance I could make it to Bonneville again.

I'm in for Bonneville but I am going to stop for a soak in the Alvord hot springs.  How up and close can visitors get to the action at Bonneville?

Like the idea of different reunions in different states.  I think the hardest part is finding a venue?  No?  I'm partial to SOHCtoberFEST as I will be in Kentucky, IN, OH region during that time riding about (but not on Dash this year, he needs a break) and the name is clever (thank you Frank).  The 2017 reunion was a lot of fun--it was a lot of fun (especially the moonshine) and to meet the people behind these posts.

AFA Bonneville - you are right there amongst all the people and machines. In the pits, at the starting lines, riding/driving chase vehicle, wrenching or schleping for OUR team, shagging the timing slips, helping tear down engines for record verifications, running your own ride, rolling dice or pulling levers at the casinos, etc and beer is always cold.

Mooshie, I know it's early but do you have any October dates yet?

Jerry did you take your bike on the Salt? It can be hard on it.
But you can avoid taking it to the Salt and still enjoy the action.
And to the question ask you are around 2 or 300 feet back from the track.. believe me when someone gets in trouble at 300 mph it's not a big distance.  We have seen bike streamliners do thd spectator mile in 11 seconds or less.

Good idea.    I'll throw my hat in the ring and will plan one to coincide with our Annual local vintage bike show in Luchenbach, TX in October, the Harvest Classic.
It's a long weekend including camping, live music, riding the Hill Country, huge BBQ and a great bike show (no domestics!)

Frank, after all the new and NOS parts I've invested in - NO WAY. I've driven there each time. That can be extensive corrosion and/or cleaning and you better hope for a hard thunderstorm to ride/drive through on the way home. I catch a ride in and out with Dennis Old Scrambler in his conversion van each day and leave the Vette at the motel. The one year it was a lake from the rains and Dennis had to drive his van through all that salt water. Big Jay and I were talking Vettes one day and he told me he just had to take his out (we both have 2012 GS's with mine red and his black) one time. When he got home it was over heating and it cost him ~ $1200 to have his cleaned out.

Anyone up for a trip to Michigan?  Let's get something organized.

I think I am up for the Gilmore show this year. I think I could make it up for the day before ride too.

I was thinking more about a trip up north or something.  Gilmore is pretty much my back yard so I am kind of bored with it.  Plus the fact that it is the same weekend as AHRMA at road america every year.  Would be awesome to have  really strong forum presence at Gilmore.  Guess we should see how many and who wants to do what.

There are also Hot Springs at Blue Lake 15 miles south of Wendover.

I feel you Sean. I did Road America 2 years ago, the racing adds a nice dimension and I took advantage to ride the track at the end of the day on Sunday.

How much time do you want to take? If you want I would ride up to you a couple days ahead of Road America and we can head north to the UP then down to Elkhart Lake for the weekend.

Gilmore is definitely a great show and awesome venue, but as stated, does fall on RA weekend for AHRMA, which is one of the premier weekends of the year for racing. RA is a big, fast track. The bike show and swap are pretty lame, but if you had a group of guys to bring bikes and set up, might be able to make it an official part of the festivities for the weekend. Plenty of camping available too.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

And it's a nice track and facilities (not that I've raced it). It's the weekend after The Salt on your way home.

There is a really nice campground across the street from RA that has basic cabins for rent so you don't need to tent it (electric, beds, and mini fridge, but no water or bathroom). That's where I stayed in 2016.

Mooshie,

How about The Central Coast!?

I'm just south of SF. Central coast or anything between Mexico and Canada could be fun. Tons of epic riding and lots of campsites between here and Santa Cruz. Big Sur is great but camping might be hard to come by. Colorado was awesome last year, great seeing old friends and making new ones. I'll probably be down for anything between here and there but I doubt I'll travel further East of there.
So much to do, so little time.

Well..sh..t guys..where's it going to be this year?  I'm getting too old to be worrying about venue anymore.  Sorry I didn't make it last year in Colorado (my bad LOL) ..but had legitimate reason..as I was in Japan @ time.

If it's more than 1000 miles away from Colorado..anyway..I probably couldn't swing it..but would like to know what the decision is..fairly soon here.

A suggestion: Rather than assuming that the next reunion should be "roughing-it" (as in Colorado last year)..why not consider doing it where there are hotels and/or "resort accessible" types of facilities..if some want that option?

Personally.. sleeping on bedrolls on the ground (or similar facsimile) is something I prefer to leave as memory to my days in the military in the 1960's LOL.  Besides that..@ 70+ nowadays..it's not physically practical any more..and I feel I've earned a sense of consideration for comfortable accommodations/facilities.  Am I being too "old-foggy in my thinking here? LOL

Anyway..looking forward to what the majority consensus turns-out to be here..

Ichi Al, funny you mention 1000 miles! If we do a SOHCtoberFest 2018 in the W. KY. LBL (Land Between the Lakes   Paducah area) it's EXACTLY 1000 miles for me  ;) I'm thinking of hauling one of the 750's behind my Subie and staying with a friend there. Plenty of motels too. Let the kids camp, we've paid our dues. I'll haul you too but I'll probably stay the month. You could always ride back  ::)

Have you seen the cherry 550K one of our members is selling for ~$2800? Under 10K miles too. You need another one buddy!
