Well it was yesterday actually, but being that yesterday was the shortest day of the year I didn't get around to posting this until today. I've been "wheeling and dealing" with Spotty, and yesterday I delivered his new ZZR1100 project, and picked up my latest CB750, and a BSA 250 from the 1950's, for good measure. It makes me feel young to have a bike that's older than me!

Anyway, my favourite car is my old Ford Exploder, I bought it for the bargain price of $1600 four years ago with a rattly pair of camchains, but so far, so good, they're still rattling, but it's still running perfectly. Compared to my other cars it's a gas guzzler that averages 19 MPG on the highway, when compared to my Aussie built Ford Territory that is slightly wider and about the same weight, but gets around 40 MPG from it's V6 turbo diesel. No matter, I had a great drive over to Spotty's place, and a better drive home with more CB750 booty, and a BSA to boot. ;D

goodbye my little friends

the bsa was inherited from my dad when he didn't get to stay around long enough to enjoy restoring it in his retirement. over my tenure it scored a nice rebuild on the motor and box, unfortunately most of the other original bits were sold to pay for that......

Today I replaced the drivers door hinge pins and bushings on my 85' GMC S-15. I fixed it just in time as the upper pin had just started to come through the bushings.

Installed a new power-brake booster in my Jeep, since I discovered when I replaced the leaking master cylinder last Fall that it ruined the seals in this booster. Then I had to re-bleed the brakes for opening the brake lines to get the booster out/in...Then I found 2 major vacuum leaks (which explains why the A/C only blows up the windshield and not on me...) and discovered the steering stabilizer [rubber] bushing on one side is gone and the other side is only half there. That probably explains why it has developed the Jeep 'death wobble' at 45+ MPH...

speaking of power brakes my car backfired on start up this morning and blew the end cap off the vacuum check valve at the booster!no worries I found the piece and it sort of snapped back in ok but I got a new one anyway as it should be fixed solid, well of course the new rubber will no way fit the booster housing and the new valve wouldn't seal properly in the old rubber either, seeing the old valve wasn't cracked or crumbling I cleaned it up and jb welded the cap back in place,AHH JB WELD!is there anything it cant fix?ive owned this car 35 years and never replaced it,ill bet its the factory one from 1973?

That's a good looking moped Lars, I remember riding some cool mopeds when we did the 3 month European vacation in 1974, I loved those Fantic chopper mopeds, and cafe racer style mopeds, and FS1's etc, we didn't have them here, so young guys were buying CB750's or Z1's at 16 or 17 years of age, and many didn't make it out alive...........
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Loading trailer and working on the MR2 for the next few days. Off to the second round of the Canadian Endurance Racing Championship. Each weekend is two races. 8 Hours on Saturday and 9 Hours on Sunday. One of our drivers can’t make it, so sharing the driving amongst three of us. The Toyota is a tough car, but this one will be a real test!

Thats a nice little car mate, I've thought about buting one several times, I might have to pick one up before they become "collectable"! ;D

Starting to look good Dave!
Stryboen, hope you are enjoying the boat and the car. I do not recall seeing final pics of the car work. What you had done looked good.

I had the tires on my car rotated and balanced.  Discount Tire showed me a chart and told me I had 5/32 and 6/32" of tread depth remaining but the tires were 6 years old and they could fail from age at any time and should be replaced.  What a scare tactic! While it could happen it is a very low probability and if it did happen it would be the last set of Goodyear tires I would ever buy!  Yes, currently shod with Goodyear Eagle IIs .
