"Lowes Specials"
Im cutting up 2 old sets of 7/8 for the clamp and control areas and making the rest with black iron gas line + fittings amd a piece of wrought iron rail banister.

Got the bars mostly done... Have to grind a small weld and reset one of the gripping bars. I missed my mark on it. Other than that a successful run for a short eve.

Made a shifter with a crusty doorknob I picked up at the flea market. Mounted up the drag pipes as well.
Picked up a piece of 2.77 all thread to center the knob. Still got about 10 inches left.

It will be what has been known as a live clutch. It's basically just a foot clutch on a foot control, operates just like a clutch in a car. when you press the clutch disengages when you let off the pedal the clutch is engaged.

Cleaned the paint off the rear fender last night. Paint dust burnt up my angle grinder. Off to Harbor Freight today after work. Need some flap wheels anyways.

Gurp, you are going to need some kind of detent to hold that shifter steady, maybe a spring going each way or something. If it rests in the forward or back  position the shift forks will be toast in about 100 miles or less. Also if you leave it just flopping loose then every bump you hit could cause it to shift itself either up or down, probably not a good thing.

Went to HF over the weekend picked up some bondo and sandpaper for when I finish the rear fender.
Sunday GFs dad's best friend stopped by about raking the front for me. So thats going to happen in the next few weeks.
Wanted to find someone I trust for that. As its beyond where i feel safe with my skillset. He races a Turbo KZ1000 built to 1426. If his bike holds i know his work is good enough for my just cruising.

I got most of the body work done on the rear fender before the old lady wanted me to come in the house yesterday.
Today I stop by Lowe's and found a nice shade of purple blue.
Hopefully it will go well for my idea of a night sky as the paint job.
It's a pretty simple concept where I Prime the tens in Black matte or flat and then I spray a purple blue over top of that put various small dots checks crosses in white across it and then spray with black again and sand through the top layer.
If it turns out right it will look like a clear night sky from about 5 feet away. Also if it turns out right I will clear it with a matte clear.

Tried the "night sky" paint on some test sections just cant get it the way I remember. Pics up some semi gloss "deep mint" today and loved the color. Thinking of going black and "deep mint"
Its like a shade or 2 darker than seafoam green in a semi gloss.

I always hated body work...
Still have a low section. Slap some more bondo and sand again...
In the plus side I like the "deep mint"

So not alot has happened been pretty bisy.
I did manage to score a cheap BEATER vlx600 shadow amd doing a few things to it. Which means the no title 74 550 motor will go on my 500 frame now.
Need to sand some bondo and pull the motor.

Have 2 fights coming up so training is in full motion.
Haven't fought in 13 months. Beem sparring with mostly pros so hoping to stop both my next OPs. We'll see with time.

Ordered a throttle for the CB. Little else going on.
Thinking about ordering a eye to eye weld on bracket for the swingarm. Not sure yet.

Care to show what you're talking about....................?

Still trying to come up with something to use on my frame.

I've thought about having a friend that has a shop, twist me some iron studs and weld connectors on the ends.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

They definitely would not be hard to make but for the price of $10 each it seems easier just to buy them and have them shipped to you. some things are worth the effort but $10 isn't going to break the bank on a bike build.
