Finished my 1970 Honda cb750K0
« on: May 22, 2019, 01:55:27 PM »
This one took me years. Two previous owners collected NOS Honda parts for more than 35 years. Neither of them ever got past having the frame, swing arm and brackets powder coated. I’ve been picking away at it for 3-4 years, in between lots of other projects. All the red bodywork is new Honda parts, still in boxes. So are the HM300 pipes. I did use three Yamiya parts (small), but the rest is NOS. I sent the original seat pan to a guy in England (“Bob the Seat” on EBay) for resto. I showed it a few weeks ago, on our local CVMG Section stand, at the Toronto Spring Motorcycle Show. Of course I forgot to take any pictures! A friend sent me this one today. My son and I have four other SOHC 750’s that we ride regularly..... Not sure what I’ll do with this one. Living Room? Yeah, in my dreams!

Beautiful! To think I was around when they came out and didn't buy one.  Rode one at the time, was impressed, but was into ancient Britbikes at the time.

BearFour....... funny you say that, I was riding a Triumph T100S when I saw my first CB750. A few years later, I realized by boots were always covered with oil and my T100 needed constant attention. My wife was riding a Honda 250 Twin that never needed anything but gas! I bought a SOHC750 and still have it!

What engine/frame number is the K0?

The red 305 was built by our Club President. It gets used! You can see it on all the US Moto Giro events, particularly in the N.E. I’ll get my file and post the frame/engine numbers, Thursday.

Gorgeous!
I once saw one in the same color, K0 early, in the 'great entry hall' of a large house in UK. It was considered 'art' by the owner, and had less than 300 miles on it, a real jaw-dropper!

Thanks for all the feedback. It really did turn out well. Took my time and really worked on every part. Even built a “home plating kit” for zinc plating bolts.......

For those that asked: Frame is cb750-1038169 and Engine is cb750E-1038364. Bike originally sold in Toronto, ON. Canada.

Benelli, your bike was nominated for bike of the month. Go to the nomination thread and accept it,  you deserve it.

I keep plugging away at these! My son and I now ride K1, K3, and a K4. Over the winter, I finished up a 1975 cb750F....... the K0 will probably stay in the shop for a while. I enjoy just looking at it!

Is that a Route Sheet Holder on the bars? Never saw one on a street bike. Are there events you ride that uses them?

PRZJohn...... I had two bikes on display with our Club (that’s my Benelli 750 SEI just to the left of the K0), at the Toronto Spring Motorcycle Show. The theme of our booth was our 250 kilometre “Giro style” event, in a few weeks. This is the 9th year we run the “Ganaraska 250”. We use the route holders for the morning and afternoon road routes. I ride my K1, my son is on our K3 and a friend of his (or one of mine) usually comes along on the K4. Old photo attached!

Just curious
Did a 1970 K0 in Canada come with the longer chain guard?
