I really love the look of the black with the stock stripe. There are some really nice CB750s posted by Japanese riders on Instagram. @meiki_bike has some really nice black CB750s.

..indeed there seems to be a vast array of gorgeous cb750's in Japan. Hell, they probably all were sold new in Michigan.

I remember I have a black tank with fairly new paint on it.., looking at the Japane bikes, I am seeing Red stripe on black, I think that looks pretty good as well..

The Black bike is now black. This is the first stage. I used a 2k single stage black which will become the base coat. I have to place the vinyl tank stickers then I will clear with 2k urethane clear coat. Since these paints aren't part of a typical base coat / clear coat system I have to wait for the black to really harden and outgas before the tank stripes go on.

The gold stripes have been added and it's almost ready for clearcoat. The plan is to finish the paint next weekend then it's on to the stock fork ears and gators.

Clearcoat. Needs color sand and buff. I would like to have it holding gas by Sunday morning for the DGR.

I didn't make it in time for a ride this Sunday but it is holding gas and back on the bike. Now I have to decide which tank emblems to get. I like the black K0 emblems but the K1 emblems have gold outlines instead of chrome that will match the tank stripe nicely.

K1 will most likely look very good. Bike is a K1,right?
Do you match side cover diamonds too? Red for K1.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning toward the black K0 badges. The bike is a K1 but a lot of the K1 parts are gone. I'm looking to get the correct rear fender and tail light bracket over the winter. The bracket holding the right brake line is the stock bracket from the left side. The Honda part number is 45145300020.

Phase 1 of the "back to stock.......kind of" build is done. The tank and seat are finished. I went with the K0 style badges because I thought they looked better with the black tank. The bike is very comfortable to ride. I rode it out to Great Valley on Sunday which was a 100 mile round trip and I didn't have any discomfort.

Phase 2 is going to be more "back to stock". I have to get the K1 fenders, front and rear. I have the K1 tail light bracket and light. The Euro tail light bracket and oval light don't look right to me. I will also be going with the stock fork ears painted black and gaitors. Then it will be on to the correct top tree and gauges.

Winter Update: New fenders front and back. Both are oem Honda. The K0-K1 rear fender has been discontinued but there are still a few out there. The tail light bracket is an original I had re-chromed. The new front fender required new brake lines.

I picked up what I think is a Giuliari seat. I will probably swap back and forth with the oem seat.

I also went back to the drum rear brake with new EBC shoes.

I really like the changes you've made towards looking a little more K1 ish.

I notice that your stock front hand brake assembly is missing the rear view mirror and that it looks like the mirror shaft may have been broken off. The reason I point this out is because I'm in the process of bringing my old K1 back to life and after attempting to break loose the mirror on mine it snapped off. I'm looking for any tricks/techniques that have worked for anyone else, along with what you were thinking of doing for a mirror on that side?

I hope mine will look half a good as yours when I'm done....Great work Rookster.

The Yamiya no numbers (HM300 replicas) have a mighty sound. Good flow too, so bike will run fine.

I usually don’t like 4 into 2 on these but yours look great, nice lines.
That being said, the Yamiya no-number units are great, great looks, great sound. Well made as well.
Your bike really shines, very nice job.
When you are “done” I’ll nominate for bike of the month.
