Sounds good to me. Were you thinking of Sunday afternoon, or next weekend? I've been thinking about riding to Nubble Light in York, Maine.

I'll call this #5 since I remembered to take some photos.  I had some Harbor Freight bucks soon expiring and there was an item in stock at the Ontario, OR HF that no one else had, so yesterday I rode the faithful 750F over there via Emmett and New Plymouth, then back through Nyssa and Homedale.  A little cooler day than we have been having and very pleasant.  About 125 miles.

When I rode by, all these cows were packed into that mud hole.  It looked hilarious, so I turned around to take a pic.  Of course when I parked the bike, they moved out.

I turned down this road to see where it went.  I saw the no outlet sign, but I could tell the road went for a ways, so checked it out.  It did go a couple of miles by some farm fields so it was worth while.  Coming back I saw the train coming but didn't beat it.  It was a long one, so I had to wait 10 minutes or more, even though it was probably going 50+.  I expected the train to be blurry from the speed and be a little more interesting, but the cell phone camera handled it well.

Lots of corn being grown this year.  They will be chopping it soon, and there will be corn bits everywhere as they haul it in open trucks making a mess.  Makes it interesting to be behind them.  There's a law against littering but the farmers get away with it.

Lots of hops are grown in this part of Idaho and eastern Oregon -

A big sky pic -

#3 - no pictures today.  Approximately 63 miles split with the 550/750.

Went northwest of where I live and did 32 miles on the 550, just winding through suburban type roads in a mostly 45 mph zones.

Came home, quick bite to eat, jumped on the 750 and headed southeast-east for about 31 miles rambling in the country, mostly 45/55 mph zones.

Good rides today, nobody scared me, temperature low 80s and partly cloudy.

#76 yesterday just out and about for coffee, 95km
Today back to Burlington for fish and chips, so good, 125 km. #77. Didn’t go down the logging road with the wing! Probably our last rides on the island as we are going home on Tuesday so have to start packing up and getting organized.

#25 !  Finally the goal of 2025!! ;D
15-16*C so time for wool under the leather jacket.

119km ride  in the countryside and visited a friend where we  plundered his plum tree. Small old style wild plums? (Maybe Mirabelle) ok for chutney or eat directly,  they goes bad very quickly.

Today my K2 that has been resting since June. First ride with its new yellow battery.

Cooked chutney after dinner at home.

Congratulations Per, well done mate! Last week the weather was all over the place, fine and cold, wet and cold, overcast and cold.Oh well, Wednesday was a great day. I had to ride my son Tim's RE over to the storage unit so that he can access it at any time without having to move my bikes out of the way first. I parked the Enfield, then jumped on the K0, and had a fantastic 80 mile ride through the hills. Ride #31

K0 Wednesday 20 August 2025 2 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I noticed that the paint on the tank has a couple of cracks in it, and the bottom of the airbox is looking pretty sad after I left the petcock on for months and fuel made it's way into the airbox and ruined the paint. A guy here that I've been buying/selling/trading CB750 parts with had ordered a large shipment of parts from Yamiya, so I asked him if he could send me a complete Blue/Green paint set (new tank, sidecovers, air box and headlight ears) so when it all arrives, I'll turn my red K0 into a blue K0. I'll keep the OEM parts in case I sell it one day and someone wants the original pieces.

Thursday started awful with a trip to the dentist for 3 fillings. As it turned out, it was all pretty painless, so when I got home I thought that it'd be nice to got for a ride, so I did a 103 mile ride on the VMax. God I love this bike, it is so loud and obnoxious, but with the power to make it fast, and not just loud. I installed a digital volt gauge before I left, and was happy to see that my charging system is working fine. #32.

On Saturday Spotty and I took the GPZ1100 out for it's first short rides and made a start of sorting the wiring out. It had a sh1tty old aftermarket fuse box with several tabs rusted out, so I bought another, better fuse box with LED's that will shine to indicate a particular blown fuse, which I reckon is pretty cool.

Yesterday Spotty, Tim and I rode to Heathcote for a pie. Tim's still a novice rider, so his Uncle Spotty and I kept an eye on him and when Spotty and I had a couple of impromptu drag races on our VMax's, we'd then pull over to the side of the road to allow Tim to catch up. We had a great ride, the pies were great, and I'm looking forward to the next "Son's of Apathy" ride. And that was ride #33, around 130 miles all up. The sun is shining again today, so I might sneak out and get #34 done. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

and on the way home i got to test my ( horrendously noisy ) brakes, we were wandering along at about 65mph having just passed a couple of cars which tim didn't get past so terry slowed down to wait for him, i looked up to see the back of terry's bike approaching mine at a rapid rate, hit all the slow down devices and managed to stop with him none the wiser ( until he reads this...) but i'm glad to say that as noisy as my brakes are ( no anti rattle clips on the hayabusa front calipers ) they worked very well indeed

but i do get to claim my first long ride for the year, in fact when i checked my log book on saturday i haven't ridden anything except terry resurrection bikes for over a year, so saturday was a quick 10km ride to make sure the vmax still functions safely, then yesterdays long ride. I am a very sore spotty today though

also found on saturday when i rode the GPz that i can apparently only ride bikes with forward controls as my right knee is no longer up to normally mounted pegs. this weekend will involve me making new footpeg mounts for the dirt bike (stock K7 frame)
i blame Terry

#58, 8-23-2025, 120 miles. Just took off on a meander with no planned destination, have covered this general area quite a bit so I headed down some new roads going through the same areas as I have covered a lot in the past. Got sprinkled on a little near Adrian, MI, the last few miles home the rain POURED LOL, I did not melt.

#59, 8-24-2025, 149 miles
Headed for Grand Lake St Mary's in Celina, OH.

Stopped into a few tiny towns along the way that were just a few miles from the route. I have known a few folks whose spouses worked at tiny post offices that somehow still exist, sometimes those offices have bid on contracts to sell stamps to retail chain stores such as Kroger and that sales volume helps keep their office in business.

Thanks, Terry!
Your K0 is well worth a new tank set. I'm sure it will fulfill your dreams too ;)

"Waste" money in time while you still get salaries before retirement with  probably lower money flow in.

I have invested some from Yamiya too the last years. Horrible shipping from Covid era and still via UPS instead of Japan Post that worked very well.

Nice rides with your son and Spotty. ;D

Your better riding part of the year is ahead for you. Here it will end in 1 1/2 monthS.

A good ride with a food stop is perfect.

We have to make sure to use the time we have left. I hope I'll be fit to ride another 10 years when I'll become 75.

Sirs, I heard just a bit of a radio story yesterday as I was driving. The subject was improved medical care and the supporting data was that in 2025 the life expectancy of a 70 year old was better than the life expectancy of a 56 year old in 2000.
That’s good news for all of us especially this 72 year old who wants to keep going a lot longer.

Ride #5 78 miles

Saturday 8/23 hot (100°) , humid and even some light rain. But it was state championship night at the speedway,  so I had to go. This only riding to com.ute to work sucke so it was nice to have an event to go to. It was an awsome night of racing a d the only bad part was my buddy's rider ended up 4th for the night. He lead the last ra e and was looking like he owned the track, then got out of shape on the last 2 laps, oh well that's racing.

Ok got ride #6 today, it was a commute, but it was also my birthday, so I'm counting it!

111 miles round trip. 42 miles to get to Balboa Island where the job is located. All freeway and lane splitting first thing in the morning. After work, and because I hadn't been on the Ortega Hwy in awhile, i chose the long way home. Going home was 69 miles ( if my public school math is correct) and a much nicer ride. I left  Balboa Island and headed south on Pacific coast hwy for about 30 miles to Dana Point then headed inland to Ortega Hwy, up and over the mountian to Lake Elsinore.   From there I took the back roads home to Corona. The cool part was I didn't ride even a single inch of freeway all the way home AND I got to ride some twisties too.

No pics this time. BTW I hit 73 today and hopefully I can keep riding safely for at least 20 .more years!

Happy Birthday Jim! I too am hoping to continue to ride into my 90s, Lord willing.
I fully agree with you guys!

Maybe we will stay healthy as long as we ride our bikes ;D

Or a future project adding auxiliary rear wheels / trike build.

I've realized I'm not going to make it again this year...
Sporty cracked a fender struts in the process of pulling ut off the strut shaped and I found i need to weld the frame in the area again. Cracked right beside the welds. Likely to make a new section and weld it in with a slug.
Same day went to start the 61 GMC carb stopped up pumped so.e gas out the top of the carb. Backfired and burnt every but of wiring under the hood the spart plug wires ans dist cap/coil.

Honestly disheartening. Just gonna leave everything sit till next year. Work on them in the spring. Hopefully work in the Honda chopper through the winter.

Gurp, you have a 61 GMC that was a driver/runner? Wow

I don’t even have a place to park something like yours.
Around here most garages are attached to the house.
A small under hood fire in a shiny Lincoln cost a lady her life nearby recently.
Not to mention the Lincoln and the house.
So glad you’re here Gurp.
