Happy birthday Lash!

Got in ride #3 today.  50+ miles fetching some prescription drugs and then wandering around the country side.  Stopped by my favorite little lake where I spent many hours in my youth.

I would have stayed out a bit longer, but had to get back as my furnace is on the fritz.  Needed to get back so the furnace tech could get it sorted out.

Looks like next week might bring multiple riding opportunities!   8)

Happy Birthday Lash!

Good to hear you got for some fresh air in the face Dennis.
I'm still waiting for the snow to go away and some good rain to wash the salt off the roads here in NH before I get out, plus the driveway is mud city at this point, still frost in the ground maybe a foot or more. It's supposed to be 59° f tomorrow and lots of rain. If it doesn't freeze so they put salt on the roads again maybe I'll try getting out through the mud, @150' from the back of the barn.

My day was just out on the snowmobiles with my wife which is good anyway. Glad she likes to participate in riding and sledding. We are off to Newfoundland again this year for two months and will tour as much as possible. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes!
Still lots of snow but raining today..

Is that your work ride or did they haul you away in it for going too fast on the sled?

I hope this forecast is somewhat accurate!  Other than old Blue, the bikes haven't been out since last September.  Fingers crossed I'll be getting some seat time this coming week...  For me, 65F and sunny is a perfect day on the bike.   :)

Yes, that looks terrific Dennis, and ol’ Blue is looking good.
My first spring ride is always cautious, until the road/roadbed is thawed and solid, and I have seen it once or twice. Too many freeze/thaw cycles overnight is hard on the roads.
High on the plus side, no bugs, and ATG is comfortable. :)

I’m hoping next Tuesday for my first ride of the year. Could get up to +8c with any luck. Roads are muddy so it will be the KLR!

#2, 3-9-2025, got out for 76.3 miles, it was 47F when I got back home, some snow on the ground still. Dropped mail at the PO and headed North to US20, east to OH-109, South to 20A Delta, OH, and then West back home.

Ride #4 on a beautiful day here in Ohio.  96.4 miles.  Rode Blue out to the shed and swapped for the NC700X.  Gassed up on the way home.  Checked the tires, cleaned & lubed the chain, and gave it a quick wipe down and polish the dash.

Headed West on SR55 through Terre Haute, on to Thackery and the massive grainery, then came Christiansburg, on to Casstown, quickly through Staunton, and then rolled into Troy.

Headed back East on a tasty & twisty county road, Troy Urbana Road.  Bike ran great, the weather just cool enough to make you feel alive!

FINALLY !! First ride of the year, 164km. Conestoga dam. Still lots of snow and muddy roads and next week looks colder so it will be a while before I can get my 750’s out.

Good job Lash!  Even if it's not ideal conditions, it's great to get out after a long lay-off.

No snow left around here, but I won't be doing any trail braking for awhile with all the junk still on the road surface.

Got in ride #2 today for 110km. but the weather was getting worse as the day went on. Started out at 5c and light wind but the last 40 km. was 2c with 50 km. headwinds. 100km speed plus a 50 km wind makes it pretty cool on the body! Still better than sitting home! No pic today, too damn cold.

Ride #5 115.9 miles.  Rode out to the shed and swapped bikes again.  Brought home the Yamaha, checked it out and headed out.

Went through the village of North Hampton and got a shot of the Post Office.

Down the road a bit and came to the Village of Anlo, too small for a Post Office so I recon they get their mail in the Village of Donnelsville...

Stopped by the George Rogers Clark Park, lots of activity as it was such a nice day.....

Wound my way around to Fairmount and then picked up SR 68 North for a brisk ride back to the house.

The Yamaha doesn't like to be ignored and was a chore to get started after sitting since last September.  Bike ran like a top though once it was going.  I'm loving this unseasonable weather.  Looks like it might last through Saturday and then drop back to normal temps.

Nice ride report Dennis.
I get the  feeling of the ride when reading and see the photos. ;)

It will take a while until my rides here. Not only 13-15*C and  no sand on the roads.
Most dust left from the winter has to go too.  A cloud of dust when meeting a big truck or bus. I think it will clog the air filters with need of early cleaning.
Need some heavy rain.
