  I have one on the way and am also interested to see how the other ones are used. I have a low mile crankshaft and crankcase, a Big Jay backcut F2 transmission and Carrillo rods but nothing photogenic. Other projects are going to keep me busy in the near future so I might not be able to get right on it.
  There are a few good cams in my stash but how they compare to a modern grind like the ones guys have recently dyno tested are keeping me wondering. Per has been very helpful sharing his dyno information which is solid data compared to my opinions, assumptions and old magazine stories. L0L.

Does the backcut transmission gears only keep it from jumping out of gear?

It facilitates the gear engagement....helps the gears "suck" into each other.

It facilitates the gear engagement....helps the gears "suck" into each other.

I have only backcut trans for acceleration gear 2-4.
2nd typical slip out gear
4 too easy to nudge by foot during acceleration and fall into a false neutral which can be a pain to get out of.

I think there are racing versions that have deceleration cuts too?
