Looks stunning! What year is it?

Thanks Mate! Very difficult to determine the year of the Candy Gold CB750.  Titles in Thailand do not include the year.  Frame number is a mystery and does not match CB750K records.  Engine number is 1972 K2 range.  Fork ears on the bike are also later 1972 but painted Candy Gold to match the tank like the K1 models.   There are many K1 parts on the bike including the double latch seat and solid black tank stripes. My best quess is it is a transitional model between K1 and K2.

I also recently learned that the title also states the color - Gold.  If you change the color of a bike or car to another color the title is no longer valid and vehicle needs to be re-titled. If I had ordered and installed a Candy Blue Green body set from Yamiya I would have invalidated the title and would have created a bureaucratic nightmare.

I'm glad I kept it Candy Gold  :D

Does the frame have a vin plate? Depends on where it was first exported to from Japan and you may have posted the number but this is a long post so can you post it again?

Are there any identifiable differences between the K1 and K2 frames?  One problem I ran into was mounting the rear shocks.   The rear shock posts on the frame of my bike are 1mm larger at 17mm compared to the standard CB750 frame shock posts of 16mm.  KONI shocks would not fit and I had to drill out 1mm from the diameter of the round metal inner eye of the shocks in order to get them to fit.

I also just learned of the differences between the K1 and K2 engines.  The K2 engine was slightly detuned with a different cam and more restrictive exhaust system (HM341 type) to reduce noise and meet new regulations, resulting in a drop in horsepower from 67 HP to about 58 HP. That is a big decrease in HP.

Hard to believe my CB750 has a detuned version of the engine and was re-engineered for a quieter and more restrictive exhaust.    On startup the roar and rumble from the bike is thunderous and can be heard by neighbors all the way down the street.  I can't even imagine pipes that are LOUDER

according to CMS . It appears the K1 and K2 had the same frame. This comparison is for general exports, so can't speak for others.

Do you have HM300 or 341 pipes. The 300’s are noticeably louder…..

New throttle cables installed and new NOS Honda tank rubber mounts.   Gas tank is on   :) I had a hard time getting the tank to fit in the front. Even with force it would not seat forward.  I put a thin coat of silicone grease on the rubber mounts and inside the tank mounts and the tank slid right on like butter. Yamiya tank is a perfect fit.

Just waiting for the early K1 smaller size side reflectors and K1 red side cover jewel emblems
I remember seeing something about tank fitment issues on the Yamiya page, I think it referred to the rubber mounts.
A later tank from Yamiya is more narrow over frame than earlier. Maybe wrinkle tank too?
The front round rubber pucks had to be slightly trimmed on the side against the frame.
Take off, cut off ca 3mm with a knife or sharp wire cutter.

Original HM341 pipes with a replaced number 2 (no number)  pipe from Yamiya
