Well, I called OCC and spoke to the receptionist....it's legit.


Got a call from the seller working on behalf of Sr. and are working on the details.

Asked if I could maybe get some a couple pictures of him sitting on the bike and was told no problem. They also mentioned that we could work it out so I could fly out and maybe take some pictures and meet him when i pick up the bike.

Genuinely nice people.

I'll be sure to keep posting back to let you all know how this plays out.

PS: The reason I was given for the sale was that he was trying to make room for more bikes in his collection.

Your winning bid will pay a gas tank or a rear mudguard for a coming Cingular or Fosters Hollywood or Wendy's theme bike. So the guy is making space in his collection for new bikes.... and he get rid of an icon like the CB750. I wonder what does it take for a bike to deserve a place in Sr's private museum. Maybe only bikes with a maximum lean angle of 80º qualify?


Have a peek of which bikes does he like so we can buy them beforehand and ask him for an extortionate price. After seeing the show it is clear that the dictionary have a picture of them besides the term "whimsy", and a fool and its money are soon departed....


Ride that bike like you stole it!!!! She must be dying to show all those v-twin stablemates a clean set of four pipes.....

I can't knock anyone that rides on two wheels. Everyone has their own tastes.

Personally I have always loved the CB750 (As well as the Honda ST1300 and KLR650). These bikes will be going to a good home. Riding (and working on bikes) is my therapy.

Sounds like a nice deal.  I also thought they looked real nice.  Would like to know why OCC ended up with a couple of Honda's?  Maybe they were going to chop them at some point?  Anyway, nice to see our member land them and will preserve the look.  I had a new orange 450 but traded it up for the 750 do to vibration of that twin.  Have fun Dan and let us know how it all turns out.

I believe that Paul Sr has a fondness for CB750s - I seem to recall an episode where the rest of the shop crew were giving him a hard time over it.

Yeah, I've heard him mention CB750's on a couple of shows, and apart from the "throwing the cheesy chopper off the roof" episode, I don't think he, or even the other guys there are particularly "anti-Jap bikes", they just know where the big money is. Cheers, Terry.

I don't think he will cheat you, but locally the Tuetuls are known as pricks. I would doubt that you will even see any of them. They have burned a lot of the local bike clubs staging "rides" none of them ever show up you just follow some guy o a crotch rocket and a couple of trucks with cameras follow you for the TV show. When you get back to the shop there is not even coffee. You will get what looks like decent bikes and the title will probably have his name on it for authenticity. Ride it and be happy.

Hmmmm... I looked at some brochures and it appears to be correct. The angle at the rear looks right according to the other 1970 CB450s I have seen....

Anyone else think the seat (Or anything else is wrong)?

good looking bikes, but if I had 11K to spend on 2 bikes, I would have already spent 6k making my 78 just friggin mint, therefor leaving me 5k to spend on my Rolex Submariner in blue and gold. Maybe next year, huh? - Javi

....plus....you can't ride a rolex....

PS: Stopped by the book store tonight and found that the CB450 is considered a K2 SS version? (The book could have been wrong....but that's what it appears to have indicated...the pics of the seats seemed to match...)

I promise I will keep you all updated on this.

Yeah, I am pretty excited.

Chances are, I am going to just ship them out. I am so busy with work right now, I am not sure I can even get the time off to fly out there until April.

Anyway, they should be safe where they are until I get this sorted out.

In the mean time if any of you spot anything else that is suspect on the bikes, please let me know.

On a final note: I was told that another bike would be going up on ebay soon. I think it will be a British bike this time.
