2) that fairing is a thing of beauty! but the prices i see for some of them tempts me towards attempting a home made effort.

search Curtiss 8 cylinder Ormond Beach..

hard to imagine something like that in those days..

I am holding an original postcard like the one shown, except in color, in my left hand as I type this..

Probably the first 100 mph bike in the world, and it still is in the Curtiss Museum today...

I believe the 8 did not go into production as a bike engine, but did see widespread use as an aircraft engine...

Pretty cool stuff...

It should be noted that although they do cost $450 bucks, they are hand crafted alloy, not fiberglass.

OK, I retract my statement. Them silver painted heads look like alloy in the posted pic.
I clicked the link, managed to see the other side of the heads.. while I was looking, my aged computer..got me kicked off the site..
