Finally got some work done on my addition.
Graveled the floot kinda level and got the door up. Guy at worl has some free fluorescent lights. Waiting on those to wire the place up. He's going to LED. I normally would too, but free is the right choice for me.

Finally got the I-Beam ($40) mounted to the ceiling of the garage, installed the Harbor Freight trolley ($50) and chain hoist ($40). Now I can lift heavy things and easily move them up to 10 feet (and onto the bench) without breaking my back!

Lots of cool set-ups on here, finally have a shop i can share. I went with a 10x16 slab with an extra-tall single pitch build. The height is 12' on the tall and 10' on the short, this allowed me to build some loft storage at both ends, i've got lots of shelves to keep stuff off the floor. Right now i'm just running an extension cord off the back of the house, but hoping to get it wired up after the driveway gets extended down to the shop.

had a little ramp poured with the slab too, double doors on the approach and a single entry on the side, would be cool to have a deck out this side someday

Thanks y'all, not enough room to leave messes up for too long. I had a spot before with a 400 sq/ft detached garage and it was a nightmare with piles of #$%* everywhere, didn't want to start off on that path with this space & so far so good.

My shop heater took a poo from running at a low temp. 40*f made it condense and rotted the heat exchanger tubes out. My nephew had the exact one and wasn't going to use it so I bought his and got it hanging today. I can't seem to feed the double wall flue pipe over the outlet so I'm getting a new piece of pipe in the morning. Just in time for -50 wind chills.

Only cost to me building this was the shingles::::

It's gotten a little rotted since being built.

Still serves the purpose.....although cold in the winter, and hot in the summer.

Pardon the mess, it's been over 100 degrees for the past two weekends so instead of mowing I've been hiding inside under the cooler duct. Welcome to my mess, too many bikes, and worse still too many parts, tools, machines etc taking up space.

A couple of years ago my wife let me use the patio as a temporary workshop to build my K2 bitsa. Somehow or other, the collection of bikes, parts and associated junk has spread.......... ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks, Larry. I won't take credit for anything about the design or construction, but picking it out from the many choices at the local lot that sells them was a good move, if I do say so myself.  It faces south, so on these pleasant late winter days it heats up pretty good from just solar gain.
