 A recent pic of my shop, 4 of the 750's came from my brother. Not shown is the GS1100 and GL1000. The red drag bike on the right-side shelf is coming down soon to get the turbo that's on the stand. The engine under that turbo will get the 997 big block when it gets done.

As it is a reminder that I will need to sort out my shop when I get back from my rideabout. I still need to finish sorting and storing the stuff from my Vermont barn parts/K6 project score. Been busy working all summer and haven't spent much time in my shop.

Had a couple issues with my garage 4' fluorescent lights and it was time to address it. First off, the "Decora" switch was wore out so a replacement was a quick fix.  $2.48 is a cheap fix...

Once that was quickly changed out, 1 of 4 fixtures was still not working.  After using known good bulbs, I determined that 2 tubes were bad, I would have guessed it was the ballast.  A quick search showed Home D still sells them, so off I went.
Once there, I noticed that they had LED "plug & play" bulbs that work in a fixture w/o modification, I have not heard of this. They were also available in the 6500 Kelvin [K] temp lighting that I had and like.  They were only a few bucks more so I thought what the hech...

I have changed out the ballasts on most of the fixtures in my shop. I've been installing the LED tubes as the fluorescent tubes fail. The LED tubes are a huge upgrade! Much brighter and better color temp.

I have ten 8' dual tube fluorescent lights and changed all of them to LED. It's much brighter in the shop now. We tossed the ballasts and wired direct with an inline 1amp fuse for each pair. I haven't had to change a bulb since we went LED. It's great because changing 8' tubes mounted on a 12' ceiling ain't no fun. The only issue I've had was a couple of defective fuses.

My garage got LED tubes a few years ago.
Old ballast, new ignitor and LED tube in a kit.
Better light, light on direct and much lower consumption.
From 6 tubes x36W to 6 tubes x14W daylight bright version.

I measured the amps  and volts on the lamp switch. Specified  tube wattage  correct.

All lamps in my house have got LED bulbs or tubes.
A softer light at 2700 kelvin,  the smallest 1W bulbs more to the amber tone
Low watts bulbs for cozy illumination work fine today. 
Not many years ago they had a bright blue-white tone for garage and workshops only. Not nice in house.

Nice option! I wonder if they stop working if the ballast fails? I used the ones where you by pass the ballast and am very happy with the outcome.

I was happy with the brightness of the fluorescent tubes as I changed 'em out to 6500 Kelvin years ago.
The LED's are also 6500 and really not noticeably different.

John - pretty sure they will stop working if the ballast goes bad, will cross that bridge...

I just ordered 2 sets of those bulbs to be delivered tomorrow.

They will go in the garage, and the others I bought earlier will go in the shed, where I've already removed the ballasts.

Finished up work on the “ex-mine” 1970 Honda cb750K0 a few days ago. My ancient Motion Pro synchronizing “sticks” had to be cleaned, refilled and recalibrated, as usual. One of the metering needles needed to be cleaned repeatedly and a few “0” rings replaced.

It pissed me off so I ordered a new Morgantune unit from OCD Machine LLC. Everyone that has one swears by them, so I’m going to give it a try.

I like them too. Easy to use and my ears hear when they show the synchronized status.
Before that good to know which carb to adjust.

I have seen when one carb is pulling harder than the other that "follows".
Several times I had to change #4 to get #3 right. 
(It is the Mikuni TMR I have synchronized most)

Stu and Per, going on your recommendations! I like that there is no liquid involved. The Motion Pro worked very well for many years, but constantly needed cleaning and topping up. Been a while since I “upgraded “ anything. Looking forward to the Morgantune.

well not my shop photo but a photo of what im gonna use in it,In my dumpster truck driver job I find so much stuff,found plenty of cheapie bent up old tool chests not worth a penny,this one will fit into a slot below my drill press nicely and hold drill bits and taps and easy outs and helicoils,things of that nature,all these tool chests have been of course chinese tin toys,this one seems a bit sturdier but not roller runners on the drawers just sliders,was filthy oily etc so stripped it down quick degrease to find its made in CANADA!no branding on it and missing the top lid that I imagine formed a cover over the drawers once locked down?didnt have any hand tools tools in it but a few lathe tools and tool steel,some mallory metal in its plastic box and a few sticks of "make a key"gave all that to a mate who has a machine shop.

I have a box made in Canada by a company called beach it has the same runners and handles as yours . Have had it 40 years and it’s still in good condition

Me too! I bought mine at main Canadian Tire Store on Yonge St., Toronto, Ontario., in 1970. Same slides, same runners….
    Canadian Tire used to give customers 5% cash back on any purchase, in “Canadian Tire Money”. It looked just like Monopoly Money, in very small amounts. I collected it from friends and family for years and bought that box with it! I had to borrow my girl friend’s Mom’s Dodge Dart to get it home. I was driving a 1965 Mini Cooper and was sure it wouldn’t fit inside!
    A few years later I bought the base cabinet, eventually finding a two drawer middle cabinet. Will get a photo, next time I am in the shop.
