Topic: Mlinder in very bad crash

hey guys- i didn't want to post this at first out of respect for his privacy, but i decided he'd probably appreciate the people who know him on here thinking good thoughts for him. about a month ago Mark Linder (Mlinder) was in a terrible crash in seattle and ended up with broken ribs, broken vertebrae, broken shoulder, a damaged diaphragm (if i understand correctly), and lots of other injuries. he's currently in a medicated coma in seattle so none of his friends in portland have even been able to talk to him or get any word to him. from taking to his boss and mother, it sounds like he's going to be out for a while. he's alive though, and bones do heal. i hope if anyone had any kind of business going with him you'll be patient.

oh man, thats terrible! any clue at all as to wheteher he'll be able to walk again with the broken vertabra? i know thats a damn painful injury. my prayers to Mlinder and his family.

  Always a sad day to hear of "one of our own" injured.  Sounds pretty serious with the coma and all.  Mark will be in my prayers for sure.  I hope soon he can read the wishes from this board and realize how much even guys from a distance can care.  Thanks for letting us know...

Best wishes to Mark (and his family) and I hope that with time he will make a full recovery. If you go up to see him Paul then I suggest we get a donation going for some flowers or something - you`ll be surprised how much it can mean to someone when they are lying half-dead on a hospital bed for months. Or if you have an address Ill gladly send it myself. Mark is a solid guy and hes been on this board for years exchanging his knowledge and experiences. I hope he is going to be ok. And thanks for letting us know.

thanks guys. whenever i get word that he's lucid i'll do what i can to get flowers or something to him. talked to his mother this week, and it seems like there's no point for now. i'm sure he'll appreciate all the kind words whenever he gets back here though.

+1 to that - we should send some flowers or a card at least from the forum somehow - Mark's a great bloke and we should put all our energy behind wishing him a full and speedy recovery...if he's in coma he can still probably hear and understand, the unconscious mind is an amazing thing so it may help to do something sooner rather than later

as i understand it, he's in a medicated coma which means they're keeping him on enough drugs that he won't feel the pain and inability to breath on his own.

yeah. it wasn't long after the 350T head you did for him arrived. he works one building over from where my garage is, so i see him all the time. as i understand, he hit the rear tire of the rider in front of him and went down. one of his friends was riding behind and saw the whole thing, but i don't have any contact for him to find out any more.

We were all wondering why he hasn't been around lately.
You din't sy if it was bike-related, but the extent of his injuries might indicate it was so.

it happened the weekend i started the 718 for the first time. i'll look back at my posts to see when that was, but i knew something was wrong when i couldn't get a hold of him to tell him i started it. he wanted to be there so bad for it's maiden run... i was bummed he didn't get to appreciate it.

Best wishes and hopes for a speedy and full recovery.  I know if something like that happened to me, I would be heartened to hear of kind strangers wishing me well.  I will be extra careful on my ride up north this weekend.  Ride safe, all.

       You know, I'd been wondering about Mark and have even sent him at least one email. I usually get a response fairly quick and I had gotten nothing. So sorry to hear about the crash, but sure glad that Paul let us in on what had happened.

       Of course our Prayers go out to Mark and his family as well.  Praying for a speedy recovery for Mark.
