hey guys, got some work done on the motor as some may already know. here are some pics.

My parts cleaner....

The aftermath of the battle with my rear tire....

Painting the rear rim. the front will be done shortly.

The tape hasn't come off yet but this gives you an idea of what it will be like.

Currently the head is back on the bike. I will most likely be installing the cam towers and cam/ rocker arms tonight. i will get some pics up later if that happens. still need to get the paint off the block of the motor and get it painted up.

ahhh yeah the jesus sandals.... well... I was on my way to classes when i took those pictures and it was 82 degrees out. I drove to campus on my scooter in shorts.

lordwhimsey.... You can definitely do a build on a tight budget. I think the most expensive item yet on the bike was the tires. 250 mounted and installed. so far the monetary value goes something like this. 450 purchase price... about 40 in paint and metal prep materials(sand paper, acetone, paint stripper, etc..) 60 for engine gasket set (although i think its going to leak and i will have to get HD studs, and honda gaskets) 250 for tires... and about 2 months of daily work so far. by the end of the build I will definitly be under(but close to) 2000.

Yeah, I have a knack of dropping things when I work in my shop.  I always work in closed toe shoes.  Nothing like a quarter inch drive landing on your little toe.

got some work done today.

Still need to paint the side cases and the valve cover, and brush the tips of the fins.

and i might be picking up a new bike.... Yamaha XS400 or 360. The owner said $150. its got minimal rust and it was running. the owner said that it just stopped running (most likely carb issues) and no shops would work on it so they just want to get rid of it. I will either fix it up and re sell, or build it for my fiance.

got some work done this weekend. still need to paint the alternator side case. I have to fix up the wiring harness, rebuild the carbs, strip and paint the tank, get brake lines (and possibly rebuild the calipers), make a seat, get a new clutch cable. and she should be ready to go.

I figure i should have her running sometime next week. but she wont be ridable until the end of the month most likely. I am running out of money fast.
