If I wanted your opinion, i'd give it to you.

I love this one, had forgotten it. :)

I've always preferred to say "If I wanted your opinion I'd beat it out of you!"   ;D

I am of the opinion that this thread has and will continue to morph into the SBPT II.
It is my opinion this is this is actually SPBT III. The "Rat Bikes, I don't get it" thread was SPBT II.

agreed Jerry... I've noticed that wording is everything here on this forum... and some people think "in my opinion" is superfluous and unneeded... it is not, in many situations.   ;)

Wording is everything all the time Hef, in my opinion.

It is my opinion that Caave was raised with some level of Christian religon, likely Catholic, and now has his own set of beliefs.

It is my opinion that I was not raised Catholic, good guess though, you must know something about Minnesota, maybe, in my opinion.

I believe people, hateful people specifically are to blame for the hate groups of today.

If you look back at the history of people, they are responsible for many of the most pointless masacres in history, all in the name of self-promotion. Zero tolerance is the name of the game, still is. People killing abortion doctors. Hmm.

Yes, I actually do believe this.

Let's see how this experiment turns out now Jerry.  :D

It is my opinion that I have fixed this post.
(If you have any doubts, consider the two most murderous political entities of the 20th century: the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China. Combined, they managed to kill somewhere in the neighborhood of 60,000,000 people in the last century, and all of it with the deliberate absence of religion.)

Again, all just my opinion (minus the facts listed, of course).

In my opinion 1.5 mil died in the crusades alone, with primative weapons like swords and spears, 11 million died in the Holocaust, the Inquisition killed another 3 - 5 thousand, 15 thousand in the St Bartholomew's Day massacre. I could keep going on and on listing what in my opinion is truth, but it is also my opinion that it would do no good.

It is also my opinion that the best soda ever made was O.K. soda.

I hereby opine, to wit:
It is my opinion that both Caaveman's opinions and Laminar's opinions have merit, as far as opinions go.  My opinion is that religion is a sufficient, but not a necessary condition for atrocities.  But this is just my opinion.

Use of my opinion without expressed consent of the opinioner is prohibited.

It is my opinion that religeon does more harm than good. If people really need something to believe in we should just convince them that there are purple people on Saturn that have no aggenda at all except for people to be good to eachother, with no exception and there is no punishment for not doing so except that you will be looked down apon and no one likes that. One of the purple commandments will be "thou shalt not kill, even in our name or for us.", in my opinion this would be much better and it would also cut off the fundamentalists.

It is my opinion that the 'No Killing' rule was pretty straightforward the first time and if they were able to ignore it then, they'll be able to ignore it now.
"To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women."

Leave me out of this. This is a great subject to read but Billy's cow balls and my nose have nothing in common.

At least that's my opinion.

In my opinion politics are a waste of time.

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. Same as it's always been.

It is my opinion that there is no reported number of the actual casualties of the crusades. Also, I believe, not all people murdered in the holocaust were done so because of religion. And if you blame the holocaust on "religion," it is the Jew's fault because they are members of the Jewish religion. In my opinion, that belief is ridiculous!! It is also my opinion that Catholic charities is one of the largest in the US (http://www.forbes.com/personalfinance/lists/2008/14/charities08_Catholic-Charities-USA_CH0030.html) but that it is way more fun to bring up the evils of religion!!!

It is my opinion that most of Christ's messages were ones of peace, non violence, helping each other out, and love.  I seem to remember something about loving your enemies, turning the other cheek, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc, etc.  In my opinion, the problem is that most of Christian doctrine and practice is based on Paul's writings, not on Christ's.  And Paul was an a-one #$%*.  Additionally, since Constantine made Christianity the state religion of the Roman Empire lo these 1700 years ago, the religion has been intrinsically connected to political and cultural power.  And as they say, absolute power corrupts absolutely.  So the problem lies not with the religion per se, but with the followers of the religion.

The other problem is that neither the Bible, nor Christ say anything clearly, so the text can be shaped to fit whatever ideology the reader brings to it.
