Wow it has been a long time!  I started a newbie build on the forum back on Jan. 2011 and finished the build in 2016 but I don't think I ever posted the result.

I used PhotoBucket back then and now it appears they are charging.  Let me try Google and see if this works.

There are extensions for Firefox and Google to make them work.

Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/?src=search

Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj?hl=en

Once done, you may need to clear your cache, or hold down control / command and reload the page that has the broken photo bucket image.

And adding "~original" tag to PB pics used to do the trick.

Guessing the above still work.

Here's my mostly-stock F0. I just got it running, so I haven't done any cosmetic work on it yet; the missing badges, rattlecan orange-peel paint job, and exhaust wrap residue are bugging me fiercely. PO dropped it off at a shop that didn't tighten the cam sprocket knock bolts after doing some head work, which caused the timing to slip while running and all the valves got bent. Runs sweet now though! :D

Nice Aussie. The bike looks great, although for some reason the color doesn't read as orange, it looks like a metal flake Antares Red.

Yeah I had my painter follow the original factory recipe - that said, the recipe called for 3 coats of clear tangerine and my painter put on 4 coats thinking it looked better w/four.  In asking him after the fact he said he should have sent me a pic from his phone at 3 coats to see what I wanted, obviously to late now.  I have had others say the same thing thinking it is red.  Maybe I should just start calling it red, it is really a deep orange (tangerine) in the sun.   Also its metal flake with the larger flake size used at the factory, not sure if Antares Red came in metal flake.

Antares was a candy with no flake.

I do think the color looks great, just darker than original.

There was a Red Metalflake that I just became aware of at a concourse OEM only I attended a few years ago. News to me.

My candy blue green got a little dark, it's difficult for the painter to now when to stop unless he has an example to compare with. That said, everyone comments on the blue green. I painted my first bicycle mountain green so it's always been my favorite.
I also love the triple disc F, is it an F0 or F1? I think I read some countries didn't get the F2, the F1 continued. I had an antares red F1 and loved it. I'm sure there is a pic somewhere in this thread if it still works. reply 107.

Its an F0, was originally blue.

I added the 2nd front brake.  I was going for reliability, maintainability, & performance, kinda in that order.  I incorporated ALL of HondaMan's "minor" engine improvements from his book, plus some I got directly from him.  He also rebuilt my swingarm and I added his electronic ignition.

Nice improvement. I need to own fewer bikes so my efforts aren't diluted between so many of them.

Rich, what are those gauges from? I like that 9.5K redline. May come in handy on the unoriginal 1000.

The internals of the gauges are original.  I took them apart, rebuilt, lube, etc.  I was thinking two different things - better to keep the odometer with original miles - or roll it back to zero, you can see which idea won out.

I bought a set of gauges cheap on eBay, were supposed to be for a CB750, can't remember the year.  The gauges were from a flooded basement in Boston so the internals and needles were rusted (gone), but the faces were nice.  Out here in the Arizona sun, faces fade quickly and my originals were in bad shape.  I repainted my needles.  I guess I did not realize the redline was off for an F0!  I did a lot of intake head work per HondaMan along with dropping 10 thousands off the head, & heavy duty cylinder rods, sooooo maybe 9.5K will be fine.  Still 750 though, did not do an engine bore like you, maybe someday!!

Here's mine with my first paint job.  I only did the tank. It came with a crappy black that was peeling off and the tank was getting surface rust.  I used Seymour self etching primer then their industrial application product in a can. Fuel and oil resistant formula has made it through the first 9mos. no problems.
Just finished a caliper rebuild last month. So many bubbles!

Here's my beloved brat/scrambler F1 next to the fully restored CBX and KZ!
I'm not much of a Cafe person, I prefer to have more upright comfortable long rides on my 750.
It's a great all-around bike but my buddies with newer 2000+ bikes hate riding it, they say it doesn't feel safe. Guess they just can't appreciate the grand father of their "SuperSport" bikes Haha.
This thing gets lots of compliments, but not so much as my other buddies' restored bikes.

Shortened frame, reverse cone muffler, dual front brake, quilted seat, super bike bars, modern honda tank logo, mesh grill headlight, clear points cover, ss brake lines, crash guard etc.

What you can't see:
rebuilt top end/carbs/calipers, new wiring harness, top tube frame kit, progressive suspension front & rear(one inch longer), bronze bushings, billet clutch lifter plate, uni filter, led lights, hondaman ignition, por15 tank liner.

I think the project will be complete after get a trip meter reset knob that I lost somewhere and a pair of fog lights installed for night riding!
Still can't decide whether to use Avon roadriders or bridgestone BT45s for the next season.

Avon am26 kill twisted as good as anything that is sized for these bikes...get 3.25x19 and 4.00x18 and enjoy.  Beware, sticky enough to make you notice that you should have a front fender or other brace

I'm not a corner carver type but do enjoy a good lean. I sold the F1 bike to pay for a K0. I think I did run the 110.

no dude, use the stock sizes... they will work best with stock rims and steering geometry

mine has gl1000 wheels so I have 3.25x19 front 130/80/17 rear

Seanbarney,
Wait, I don't get it ???
I do understand that the stock rims and the tire sizes were carefully considered and engineered by the smartest people at Honda back in the day, but you run Goldwing wheels and said "get 3.25x19 and 4.00x18 and enjoy".
Sorry if my interpretation is wrong...
Your bike looks badass btw, the wheels are super clean!!

Hey Don,
I'll go with the Am26s the next season! I don't go all in on corners either, especially on the precious 500+ pounder :)
Learnt it the hard way after my crash, and I'd just like to get sticker for "improved safety" around the corners, and of course a bit of fun too haha.

If you have stock rims, the stock tire sizes work best.  When I put this bike together, I decided to try a trade off of sorts.  I felt lighter wheels would provide an improvement in handleing.  The gl rims are the same width as a cb750 but the rear is a 17" instead of an 18".  I had a good front tire that came with the bike, so I wanted to wear it out before buying a new one and bought a rear to match.  So I had 100/90/19 front and 130/90/17 rear...this resulted in a heavy steering feel, sluggish turn in, premature wear in the center of the rear and even a mild head shake on bumpy deceleration due to the 130/90/17 actually having a taller outside diameter than the correct 4.00x18.  As soon as these tires were worn out I bought 3.25x19 front and a 130/80/17 rear and all the above handling problems are improved or gone.
If it works good, it looks good...
