Aye, but this unit us a three-phase rectifier so your diagram isn't quite valid as yours uses two two-phase rectifiers.

Same principal though.

The "~" symbols go to the stator wires, the "+" symbol goes to the positive battery terminal, and the "-" symbol goes to the negative battery terminal.

I plan on taking the harness and connector off of an old stock rectifier and soldering it right up to this puppy, then adding a nice custom heatsink/mounting bracket to make it a plug-and-play replacement.

Lots of old CBs used the same or similar rectifiers.

Mine arrived Thursday.  Won't be mounting it for a little while yet but will take pics when I do.

Rectifier seems perfect for this application, thanks!

He sent me a modified schematic (I guess?). Not sure how this will effect wiring. Doesn't look critical. Any ideas what this is?

Funny... it looks like something is erased in the first drawing and then a redundant diode added in the second.

wow. I hope this thing doesn't make the bike lean too much. lemme see if there is room for a brick behind the side cover.

 :D

maybe I'll just carve the big black heatsink to the shape of a side cover.

 :D :D

okay seriously....

A chunk cut from the corner of the big black heat sink('90 T-Bird Premium Sound amp) would be plenty, and will likely shoehorn into the stock location. I'll apply a generous smear of thermal compound when mounting the bridge.

I think I will run the + side through a circuit breaker(call it a 30A, what the heck) to the battery side of the starter solenoid. The - side will likely run directly to a frame ground. This will eliminate several troublesome connectors, as well as taking a large part of the load away from the already stressed green harness wire(ground).

As for the yellow(stator) wires, I will probably take the terminals out of the engine harness connector and put them in a separate plug. A short set of wires from there to the bridge's ~ terminals completes the circuit and eliminates another connector set and the power panel wiring.

After the wires are screwed on(where are those mil-spec ring terminals?) a thick coat of 'liquid tape' should keep the weather out.

B.O.X.N.I.F.E., thanks for letting us in on the deal - looks like good parts.

Happy trails.

Has anyone installed one of these rectifiers and confirmed that they do indeed work?
They look great, just asking.

Can everyone that received theirs let me know if I mixed up an order? Bryanj bought 3 units and only received 1. Did anyone here who paid for one get 3 instead?

Nope, definetly not you, yours was the last to go out. Should be there soon, may be taking a little while because of the border crossing.

It's looking like his package was damaged in transit! Darn postal workers.
