well I got my regulator/rectifier today it is huge! waiting on the fuse box.... maybe gonna have to put the reg/rec and fuse box under the back of the seat or make a slick bracket to keep em under the sidecover, been figuring out the loom and testing the handle bar controls for short#$%*s.  meditating on the zenmaster wiring deal I will need to do soon.
I have heard that on long rides these combo units can over heat? any hints would be great ; anyone see any issue with this one???

got a heat gun from work to try and soften up the carb boots forgot to get the good goop get it friday dont really matter till I got the electrical wired in!!!!

OK I was a little worked up I'm calmer now,I'll send the "spigots" back they said they would send the right ones it's my own fault I didn't talk to anyone I just ordered them on-line. I got the fuse box today it looks pretty nice!!! time to get it together with the loom construction that's tough cause I'm inherently a little stupid, not sure everything will fit under the side cover till I get the bracket worked out.

I'm a dumbass

That is a nice bike, even if it is mine ! ;D Thank you for the kind words !  Santa is bringing me some new clubmans and headlight ears, but with the new job I hardly have time to do anything else than work ! Let's get both bikes ready and take a ride soon !How is it coming with the Dresda swing arm, I really want one bad.
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

Those carbs look great. I am eager to know how much faster the bike is with them. Is George running CRs or are they stockers. Just curious since you say his is so fast. Keep up the good work I have just started a 750 project. Also, if you run the disc brake rear wont you have a opening where the drum was on your wheel or are you using a different one.

Hey Graham,
My carbs are stock except for jets, and K&N filters. What are all you young guys doing with these old school SOHC's ? I love it, keep 'em rolling !
Holly, (if I know Tom ,will be a future BOTM !)He is doing some fabulous work , I like for him to ride my bike because he may come up with something I haven't thought of in 30 years, such as changing our gearing and going for a top end record, anyone seen my damper ?
Merry Christmas all

That is a really nice 78. I have one also. What have you done to make it that fast?

he has the head done and a 836 kit the jets and stuff like that
as for the question about the disc brake its made to fit the hub so it will not have any hole/opening or anything.

ya man the motor looks nice. Really nice. I don't even want to think about the inside of my motor till it comes time to pull it out and do it all up. that's when I plan to stiffen, clean up and paint the frame. if I just get through this phase and ride around in February I'll be happy for the time till I got enough $$$ to rebuild the engine.

No worries, you're doing good work....and I'm kinda following the same deal....building the bike in 2 phases....do the mods and finish her...then later do a tear down and restore.

Hopefully can dodge the restore bit....don't want to spend extra $$$ just "because".

thanks for the good feed fellas.
the fuse box is made by a company called Centec I got it off the website. http://www.centechwire.com/
I guess its supposed to be like an auxiliary fuse box like if you have new bike and you need to add a bunch of stuff like hand warmers and radios and whatever but I think it will do fine for my application, some have said its to much $$$ but it is really nice and very well made so #$%* it I don't feel like making my own I'll just buy the best one I can find. She deserves it and so do I. My stock fuses and box where so old and beat from living out side and riding around in the Seattle rain that it was crap. I think this will hold up pretty good, we'll see.

Tom --  I saw on another of your posts that you run a water jet.  I'm in need of some waterjet cutting.  Can you drop me an email so we can talk?  I tried sending you a message here on the forum, but it says your inbox is full.  I'd rather go to a fellow SHOC forum member and CB750 enthusiast than anyone else!

Thanks!

Your bike looks great, btw.  I'm envious of those carbs, especially since I'm on the verge of cleaning my 34 year old stockers   :-\

Thanks for waterjetting those for me.  I can't wait to see them!

What about something like this for your bike lift -- take a look at the attached image.  It would let you lift the bike by the lower frame tubes while giving your exhaust the clearance it needs.

did you just hack up a stock loom to make yours??  build looks good!  i'm interested about the diff the CR's make as well!!  i need to re-do my wiring, i'm strongly considering buying a yamiya harness and modifying it to work with my electrics under the seat hump...

Great lookin' project you got going there.

Do you know if the exhaust on the bike is stock?  I've got something similar looking on my '78k and I can't tell wether it's stock or aftermarket.  Thanks.

Hey Tom, looks like progress to me, sorry I aint been around , been working and drinkin too much!! But now my contract expired , I have time off and I sobered up ! For real! It was time when a man has beer and ice in his tool box !I've got pics of it, sad! :-[.
Mine is still apart from the clubman install, I think my wiring is as bad as yours was, I am convinced the PO also had a Windjammer on mine. I'll call ya soon or call me.
Peace,
george
