He was very nice to interact with on the forum;I also miss his Babe Thread.

Wow, guess I brought up some sorrowed news and good as well.

Sorry to hear about the losses, and am glad to hear from the others that posted back when I had my diagnoses.

I'm not being checked anymore, except when I'm told to have blood drawn for lab checks.

Since I had the CHF incident, I've had both knees, replaced, left shoulder rotator cuff repaired, neck surgery for titanium support bars installed.

Now, I'm told I need the right shoulder joint replaced..........sheeesh..

So, other than wanting to update, and chat with y'alls                I wanted to tell everyone Happy New Years.

I still ride and still have the Harley and 7 vintage Hondas. Last time I rode was New Years day. Gonna be in the 70s this week, so hoping to get this CB/Cl/SL350 off the table and run down the road a bit for it maiden voyage. (after building on it for a bunch of years.) Might be missing 2 cylinders, but still is a SOHC.

Very good to remind us to test the PSA value.
The level is not the focus, the sudden increase is.
I had very low 2013-14 and maybe 2015. Then very young, only 53-55 yo.
I wonder how it looks like now.

My father got cancer but could fight it with pills.
He passed away at 89 yo, very dement. The prostata was not the end for him.

I'll check after the weekends.

Never hurts to keep reminding about a PSA level check.  As most of you guys know I had my bout of prostrate cancer last year, radiation and hormone therapy.  PSA level is barely readable now and as the months go by I want to go shoe shopping with my Wife less and less as hormone shot wears off.  IMHO the hormone therapy is much worst than the radiation, but apparently each case is different in reactions to treatment......

About the beer, I never preach about alcohol consumption to anyone.  Purely a personal decision.  In my case I dearly loved my beer and a six pack at a sitting was no where out of the ordinary through the years, most times a couple more added just to make sure.  It never effected my job or everyday life functions, just something I enjoyed with leisure time.  When the weekend was approaching the garage frig was always filled.  Believe or not a Moto Guzzi California 1400 influenced my decision to quit drinking when it ended up on top of me while changing oil after way too many ice cold Blue Mountains, I did not have the side stand all the way down.  I started by saying no drinking this weekend and went from there, that was over seven years ago and I have not touched anything since then.  I believe the Coors Light brewery in Elkton Virginia did lay off the night shift shortly after I quit, could be connected I guess......

John, I am very sorry about your friend.  I am sure he will be missed by all that knew him.  I firmly believe that as you go through life you may have many acquaintances that you appreciate and care for, but really close friends probably could be counted on one hand.  I lost my best one years back when he come down with stage four cancer that spread rapidly.  I will admit he was stronger in handling the situation than I was.  He was an avid boater and we had many trips up and down the Chesapeake Bay.  We took our last one when we knew the time was drawing near when it would no longer be possible.  I must say the strength and courage that man showed as we talked though most of the night watching the stars will always be an inspiration to me.  Rest in Peace Randy and Chet and all of the others who have gone before us who impacted our lives in so many good ways........

Another good check is your good ol' colonoscopy.

My wife insisted that I get one last year, she has had 3 now since she is high risk.  Really not that bad, drinking the Gatorjuice mixture and not eating for a day is the worst part.  They now put you under, I woke up and all was done, I just remember the cute Asian nurse!  Turns out I did have 1 polyp, they cut it out and it was benign.  I wasnt worried about it beforehand but have a good feeling of relief now.

I got a letter from a known hospital in Stockholm where they told me to take sh!t sample, put in a tube  and return.
This due to my age. 64 yo back then.

They looked for small drops of blood that can be the case if having cancer.
My test was good.

I got another call 2 months ago to visit my nearby hospital so they could inspect the big aorta in my abdomen area. Looked for bumps.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
Ultra sound like they do on pregnant women. Lots of slime ;D

Looked good too.
Only PSA on my list except for a at least 40 years old fat plug in my arm, under the skin that is bigger by the years. Just cut it off. ;D

My doc [whom I like and rides a BMW] says that the "crap in a box" test is not reliable as it can give a false negative.
