Ha ha, thanks Georg, love it! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

As we all do.

I made up a temporary rear fender for the CB450 so it can pass inspection, and I fitted 1989 VFR750 NOS front blinkers to my 1988 VFR750, a much nicer look too.

Ha ha, no mate, I don't have much self respect, but I'd never sink so low as to buy a 500T or VF anything, they were vile engineering disasters, whereas the CX/GL 500 and 650's were beautifully engineered, and incredibly reliable. Not to everyone's taste of course, but we all know that there's no accounting for taste.......... ;D

With the cool weather we've been having here I thought my 550 was parked for the season but if today's weather turns out to be as nice as predicted, it's coming out for another ride and if I feel ambitious enough I might mess with  the 175 to try to figure out it's charging woes. I'd probably be taking my kids cbr out for a joy ride too but my kid pulled the rear shock out of it to have it rebuilt. Word of warning to all college students, if you're going to park your play toys at your parents house at the end of the riding season, you might want to consider NOT leaving the keys to them with your parents as well. :)

Justin , how have things been with you?  The 400 I got from you has been put aside for the time being due to selling, moving and another build. What is a non-sohc 400/4 if I may ask?  Hope all is well...Larry

Things are going well, man. Just working and whatnot.

The non-sohc is a 1990 Yamaha FZR400.

It'll run fine mate. So you bought it new in 1978? When did you park it? Well done for keeping it so long, I'm hoping to do the same with my Triumph Rocket III. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Last time was in 94 took it to a shop to have some work done and went 50 miles or so and started coughing/ spattering and was so upset i parked it. the guy was such a @#$%# i did not want to deal with it at the time soooo.
i will never have anybody touch it again unless iam there also.
it ran better before i took it to him.
i know it was the carbs giving me troubles but i was alittle sfaid to do it myself, not anymore, i am having a blast working on it,for the most part.

Saw a sign in a shop that read -
    Labour          $8/hr
    Labour (if you watch)     $12/hr
    Labour (if you help)      $20/hr

Obviously it was a few years ago...

I almost wrecked!! I took my 550 for a quick spin and turned from an intersection heading towards a sweeping S curve. I've taken that S curve many times except as I was leaving the stop sign I let my 550 stretch it's legs a bit and was paying more attention to the tach then the speedo and it wasn't until I was leaning into the curve that I realized I was going about 15mph faster than I normally take the curve and I wasn't ready for it so things got interesting real quick. I backed off the throttle and leaned a bit more but my squared rear tire was riding on it's edge where it's squared and it didn't like it and for a brief moment I thought I was going to take an off road excursion in the field. Off course I made it through alright but it did get my heart beating pretty good. I went straight home and parked it and put new tires on the list of things to purchase over the winter.
