What do you have there, a 15 cylinder radial engine? ;)

No, it's called extreme hoarding and I am very jealous.

No, it's called extreme hoarding and I am very jealous.

...haha  ;) No need to be jealous !
Take a look at the picture, 2 bikes without pipes and the third on is waiting.
When I finished my projects all pipes will be gone or maybe I have to buy some more.

Have a good one...Georg

I've still gotta get some spokes to lace the matching Borrani rear rim to another hub, but the guys at Buchanan's aren't being all that helpful, I sent them an email asking what heavy duty stainless spoke kit I needed to lace my Borrani WM5 18" rim to a K1-K6 rear hub, and they came back to say that it depended what the inside diameter of my rim is? I thought that they'd know all that stuff? Oh well, I guess I'll have to do their job for them.......... Cheers, Terry. ;D

That's because there is more than one style of rim profile.  The rear rim in the photo is a drop centre, the front is a regular shouldered rim.

Thanks Brian, the wheel on the back is only there until I get the Borrani shouldered rim laced up to the rear hub.I explained to Buchanan's exactly what sort of rim I had, but they didn't seem all that helpfull. Oh well, I know their spokes are good, so I'll do their job for them, I guess............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Kind of strange with Buchanan.  When I got spokes for the Borrani's on the 550 I just called them and told them I had WM2 & WM3 18's to go with stock Honda f & r hubs.  No issues. ???

No personal experience here but from what I have seen/heard Buchanan's must have one or two tech/support people who just aren't very helpful or can't quite nail your combo. Overall they seem to be good but...I guess you could say that about everything

For me, I pulled my bike apart, again. I yanked the battery box and the exhaust for a changeup. I'm gonna clean up/shave the battery box a little and mount my beat up Hooker. (Thanks Toytuff)

Thanks to my Tracy body the battery isn't a two second job. Luckily my electrical is  ::)very sorted.

I've bought from Buchanan's a couple times, the girls who answer the phones don't always know the answer.  Once I was transferred to a male tech, he knew exactly what I needed.
Oddly, the girl did not know what nipple size I needed!  Really.

Didn't do a dam thing to my bikes, I'm in Florida, 1200 mikes away....

Here you go Brian, here's the email I sent them, and below that is their reply. I already knew how much their spokes cost as I contacted them thru their website, so I don't think that A.F.'s reply was particularly helpful..........

G'Day Guys,

I've got a 1971 Honda CB750. I want to install an 18 inch rear Borrani flanged WM5 alloy rim circa 1970's and need to lace it to the stock (1971-76) drum brake rear hub with some heavy duty stainless steel spokes, can you tell me which Buchanans spoke kit will suit my project? Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Terry.

The estimated cost for 40, 7-8gauge stainless steel spokes w/nipples is $129.00 each rear set. The length of the required spokes is based on the inside diameter of your rim.

Thank you

A.F.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ? 3 Relay mod
« Reply #16786 on: February 23, 2014, 04:15:48 AM »
3 relay mod done! 2 relays for headlight (Lo-Hi), 1 for ignition to avoid burned ignitiion key switch and handle bar controls with crappy switches and thin cables. Now controlling the relays only. All relays have their own 12 V direct from battery, cable fuse close to the battery connection. (Connected at starter solenoid in connection screw)

The relays are connected in parallel to everything else, easy to switch back without relays.

I managed to squeeze in the 2 relays inside the head light!
I think that the coils get better power now when the 12V has only one switch now, the relay. before crappy switch and handle bars switches.  I did not measure before, but it must be better now! :)

EDIT: I have a new tank set with side covers from Yamiya750 with all badges etc. I'm afraid to scratch them so I'll drive the bike  a few days in spring until the bike will get the goodies. 1 scratch will be horrible.... ::) :-X
The bike project is ready now...

Next project is frame mod kit, open the head cover replacing most of the cyl studs, cam towers and double check o-rings + time the cam again.

The very angled shocks rear lower mount look strange. It should be attached one step forward, in the other hole in the swing arm, right?

Hi PeWe,

...don't know  ??? was mounted this way as I bought it  ;D I will take it off anyway when I put the K0 wheels on, I don't like this lowering kits.

Checked the parts that I brought to the bike today, ready to swap the wheels and fork but the fork ears are still waiting for the paint job. Think I will take the K2 ears until the paint job is done.

Have a good one...Georg

It seems to be much more of these in USA and for less money than in EU. CB750 is very popular today, many guys restoring them too.

Got my new brakes and rear set mounted. If only the winter would end so I could try how they work.
