I finally got the 78' KL 250 gas tank to the EvapoRust stage after spending 2 days scraping and scratching to remove the fibreglass resin that the PO tried to line the tank with. He didn't clean it first and it was peeling, flaking and coming off the bottom in chunks.
It's the last big task before we try to start it.

'bear claw' foot pegs done
How it's looking at the moment
Side covers pretty much done

I like all the mods done here. Especially the exhaust header clamps.

Do they do the job? No leaks? Where did you source them?

Spotty,I noticed the cover off;how's your shifting mechanism ?

I sanded my fuel tank to try and figure out why in the hell the last guy covered the emblem mounts in bondo. I've successfully dug them out. I still have no answers as to why the hell the last guy buried them in bondo. New Honda tank emblems costed me like 60 bucks

Sometimes certain owners do the 'emblem delete' on the tank when they repaint the bike.
I imagine it looks better to them without the emblems;a certain 'smooth/clean' look.

Was a great day in Central Texas yesterday, decided to roll the CB750 out of the garage.  Cranked it over, seemed starter was a little slow, but after 3 cranks, she fired up! [it's been about 2 months since riding this bike]  Sunny and 70 degrees, perfect day to go for a ride, I love winter-time in Texas....

A good friend gave me an engine stand so I did a major clean up of the engine for my K6. I should have bought a stand long ago!

Spotty….. I used two pieces of angle (4” X 4””). One set of holes for the rear through bolts on the engine and four bolts directly to the main plate on the stand.

What you can’t see clearly is a bit of “shaping” (with a grinder) around the clutch cover where the kick start shaft is located.

This is what I cut up to make the motorstand adapters. I used some 2"×3" angle iron and cut Vs out to clear the back sides of the cases.

I picked up this K5 motor a couple years ago as it was pulled out of a chopper, low miles on an 836 build, ported head, SS2 cam + springs and titanium keepers. I still have to go through it and inspect the insides as well as vaporblast the paint off and repaint.
