Damn, now I want a Nazi watch! I'm not gonna buy one though, I'm saving up for some hard cases for my new Triumph Rocket III, but if I could afford it, I'd buy that $199 job, or maybe this repro on EBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200381461449&_trksid=p2761.l1259

It's fascinating, wanting a copy of a watch made by a former enemy, reproduced by a future enemy...............  ::)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well the SS watch is bigger than I thought lol. Fuzzy picture but here it is on my wrist. It's about 20% bigger than any other watch I own!

UPDATE: Had this watch appraised a few weeks ago...was told it's worth a minimum of 2k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah you read that right...apparently it is a genuine Nazi SS watch that never left the russian factory in WW2. Since it has the correct date stampings on the movement, but no issue engravement on the back of the casing. That and it works VERY well.

But the guy who appraised it said it's only worth that much to the right crowd of people. He said most people that collect these want the actual issued ones. I take comfort knowing this was never worn by a Nazi officer during WW2...

I feel vindicated too, but I can't remember why? Oh well, feels good anyway, time for another drink. ;D

Hmm you may have sparked a new interest for me Colin!  Those watches are really neat. I especially like the Oris Swiss watch.  Perhaps instead of buying a cheap timex every couple of years (they always break) I'll look for something old and interesting.
