Wheels built up and on the bike.  Now just need to do some machine work on the spacers and get the brake rotors on and calipers fitted.  One step closer to spokes on my F!!!

I got as much done as I could today, still waiting for my new brake rotors to come in so I can really get into the fine tuning of the spoke wheel swap.  The front wheel and spacers are done, and the fron wheel is centered.  I had to machine about 3mm off the left side spacer and about 1.5mm off the speedo drive to get the wheel to center up between the forks.  I have to wait for my rotors to be finished (having them drilled and resurfaced) before I can fit the brake calipers.

Hey I got to thinking.... why didn't you convert to the 520 chain?

Wish I would have.  I read about converting to a 520 chain once I had already purchased the 630.

Oh man, I might have to get one then so I can have at least one upgrade you don't have! LOL

But, the 630 is stronger to handle all the extra power my 836 is putting down, lol.

Pipe is from eBay, moto gp werks was the seller.  Not sure if I got one of his last stainless or not.  Have not seen anymore listed since I bought mine last week.
Where did you pick the exhaust up from? I know Carpy sells replicas and there was another guy on here also from Moto GP Werks (x-yoshi engineer). I emailed the guy at Moto GP and still have not herd back, but I can't wait to see new pics with the wheels and exhaust.

I think I read somewhere that he is the same guy who makes Carpy's yoshi replica pipes.

I like the spoked wheels. Are you going to stay with dual disc front brakes?

Yep,  He is the guy who makes the pipes for Carpy, cut out the middle man.  Yes, the plan is to keep the dual front discs.  Hoep to finish this up in the next couple weeks.  Been busy at work so not much time to wrench.

Thanks for the link Branden.  Yep I saw that a bit ago.  This gave me more hope that I could make it fir with minimal mods besides what I have already done.  If my brake rotors would hurry up and get back I could get my wheels done then  move on to the pipe.

Well, to make the spoke conversion happen is going to take a bit more time.  The 77f front end is too narrow to run the 76f hub with dual disc, the disc wont allow the front wheel to fit into the forks.  Solution:  I have a 77 GL1000 front end and brakes on the way that I will rebuild.  This sucks because now I have a perfect 77f front end with progressive springs, Torazzi brace, billet preload adjusters, billet stem cap that I can't use. (maybe I need a new project to put it on)  The GL1000 front end will completely overhauled with racetech springs, gold valve emulators, fresh powder, superbrace and 1 inch shorter tubes by Frank.

The rear wheel will mount up pretty easily with just some minor modifications to the rear spacers.

Pics coming

I just picked up the billet tappet covers and a mirror from Joker Machine.  It is like crack...  If you like Joker Machine you should also check out Kevin's store.  Most of the parts for the 400f also fit or are made for the 750.

http://www.ttr400.com/

For the parts online contact Kevin.  http://400fourstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

It is a shame that all the front end parts I recently purchased will not fit the GL1000 front end I am putting on.

I talked to the local exhaust builder.  If the pipe still doesn't fit with the mods I have done he will bend it back ever so slightly for a 6 pack of beer.  Love when I find guys who work for the same pay as myself...

Hi Tweakin, all my stuff for my bikes {almost enough for 3 bikes now} is all in boxes. I only have a small space to build and it is a bit dusty so i don't want to leave half built bikes getting ruined by moisture and dust. I won't start building until i have every part for my K2 as it will be something special. Don't worry, i will do a detailed build thread when i start assembly, one thing i will say now is that this bike will not give me much change from 10 grand, maybe more.......its only money... ;D ;D
