I dig the gas tank a lot. and the front brake is very well done. it looks like it belongs there(the bracket). nice work!

by the way, what kind of tank is that? homemade?

Nice Cafe you got going on Lordmember. You will most certainly need more charging capabilities with the added fuel pump, injectors, O2 sensor, etc. I've heard the SOHC 750 A's alternator puts out a bit more than the regular SOHC 750's?
If Strynboen can build you a bigger alternator I would take his offer. The LED's will help some, but unless you drive without a headlight the stock charging ststem will not keep up. After about a half hour of riding, the microsquirt will be leaning out your injectors due to not enough voltage...not a good thing! The bike will start and idle fine, but once you are over the 3/4 throttle you could have big problems. It's impossible to properly tune fuel injection with voltage drops.

I'm on my second Microsquirted fuel injected Honda. 1st. is a DOHC 750 turbocharged with Suzuiki GSXR700 throttle bodies. It would have been a lot easier to set-up and tune without the added boost problems. The 2nd one I'm working on now is a SOHC 750 automatic with a small supercharger and the same Suzuki GSXR 600 throttle bodies as you are using. I like the way you are running the throttle cable to the center bodies...I never thought about doing that.

Now Lordmember...when you get your Microsquirt and the wiring harness..you will look at all those wires and say some nasty words under your breath like I did. Here's the secret when it comes time to wire up the fuel injection part.

1: Completly finish all the stock wiring first eg; Lights, Starting, Charging, and Ignition.

2: Have all your injectors and sensors in place with their appropriate pigtails You probably know what sensors you need..if not...this is what you need (a): O2 {you need to weld in a bung before you put the exhaust back on} with provisions for a heated sensor or maybe an LC1 (b):Throttle position sensor (should be on the Suzuki bodies?) (c):MAP (manifold absolute pressure)..the Suzuki one will be fine if it's there? (d): CT (coolant temperature)..just stick the sensor end between the cylinder fins and make a bracket to hold in place. (e): IAT (intake air temperature) you can put this anywhere close to the throttle bodies inlet.

3: Mount the Microsquirt, fuses, and the 2? relays.

4: Now the real secret...do one wire from the microsquirt at a time...just like eating an elephant (one bite at a time!). You will find many wires that we don't need or use with a motorcycle engine...just cut them and seal the ends. Just make sure you get the different grounds in the right places and be careful with the sensor feed wires (they use a real low voltage from the Microsquirt ECM). Try your hardest to keep any of the Microsquirt wiring away from the ignition and charging wiring (it's very easy to pick up unwanted "noise" generated by the these components and could give you problems when it comes time to program).

I'll post some real good links for you when you are ready to set-up your fuel system.

Did you have a look at the link i posted earlier? There is piles of great info there and especially the alternator mod, puts a 750A to shame and the throttle body mods for putting the standard centre mount throttle cables.. You can also run HID headlight and LED winkers to save even more power.
One thing to remember, a bigger alternator will mean more weight where its not needed, on the end of the crank. Thats why i posted the VFR mod because its a lot smaller and produces way more power, best of both worlds..

Thank you Clifford for all the usefull info. I really appreciate it. No i know who to ask if i get stuck..? :) Have the microsquirt and all the sensors except the O2..(do i need it?) Plan is to start wiring soon. :-\ :-\ But as you said, all the wires scared me :) :)
What about programming the MS? Is that hard, or can i just copy someones map`s? Did you run signal from the coil? Are planning to run stock ignition for now..

It is a CB 500 tank i believe, had to make the tunnel a bit wider, then i stretched it and made indents:) So its sort of homemade :) :)

Would love to have this VFR mod, but its way out of my league :( :( :'(
But will have HID headlight, and LED taillight... No instrument lights..
will still need extra power, so hope Strynboen pulls it off:)

Lordmember; Yes, you will need an O2 sensor. Without it you or the ECM have no way of knowing what the AFR (air-fuel ratio) is. The O2 sensor, the MAP sensor, and the throttle position sensor are the key items to make the Microsquirt work properly. You can "get away" without the CLT and IAT sensors by defaulting the program in those areas. I know of one build where the fellow just used an AFR gauge on his handlebars, but he still needed to weld in a bung and install a sensor in the exhaust. "Reading" the spark plugs just won't work. Forget anything you knew about carburators...this is fully computer driven fuel injection...it needs certain components to work, and to be able to set-up the programming. On my DOHC, I first used a heated O2 sensor from some Dodge car...but it didn't work out as planned. I purchased and installed the pricy LC1.

Once you have your bike tuned the way you want, I believe the LC1 isn't really needed anymore? I have to look into this more...might even be able to just use an unheated sensor?

On the DOHC I took the "tach" signal for the ECM from the coils. On the SOHC I am using the Power-Arc optic ignition which has a separate tach wire for the ECM.

As far as setting up your fuel injection and mapping...you will have to do lots of reading. Each engine will be very different from the next and a map from a similar engine may or may not work for you. I am not a "Fuel Injection Expert" by no means, but my boosted engine's programming will be of no use to you. Their isn't much help out in "internet land!" either. Some more progress :) Think I will change the headlamp for an older Triumph lamp, they are deeper in the back.. And lover it a bit.. Wadayathink?? Keep the bars over the top clamp or move it under? Will make it less comfortable to ride i think, but might look better?

The H light brackets are actually upside down. THo that could be a debate, I suppose. Anyway, if they were turned over and lowered the shell would be closer to the forks, I think.

You are right:) Will try with the Triumph lamp, then decide:) The brackets might also be upside down, so will try them the other way or go for stock F1 brackets, whatever looks best?:)

Tried out the Triumph headlight, put the handlebars under the top clamp and ditched the stock speedometer.




Will clean up the headlamp and remove the last bracket on the clamp, just mocked it up to se how it looks.. :)



What do you think compared to the stock lamp and speedo? Tried a bike speedometer mounted in the lamp housing, think it looks a bit cleaner..
