Better late than never!
« on: May 15, 2010, 04:44:12 PM »
well, I am just about finished with this project, but I just started posting on the forum so I figured better late than never to post my project.  It is a 78' CB550 cafe (kind of).  So here is where I am so far...

Wow!  Your bike is really nice.  I'm only at the tear-down stage of my project.  But I hope I can end up with something that looks that good.  Your color scheme is really unique.

Is that a Benjie's tank?  And what about the seat/tail?  That's unique looking too.  Did you custom build it?

I'm really impressed by the look of that seat.  Do you happen to have any photos showing more detail?  Or even some during the build?

WOW - huge transformation! And high quality workmanship. Is this your first build? I would think not.

PS. Is the stock tank in good usable condition and for sale?

Just out of curiosity, why did you add the fender?  Was it necessary for some reason or did you just want it on there?   I'm just wondering because I haven't decided what to do when I get to that stage of my own build.

Very nice looking bike.  Cool paint scheme.

Question:  I really like that tank.  I looked at the website you gave (thanks by the way - I never heard of those guys), but I didn't see what material they were made of.  Is that tank steel, aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber?
