Beautiful bike, the color choices are perfect! Really like the CF work, have quit a few CF bits on the Monster and have been considering some for my CB400 project that I'm just getting started.

Firstly, congrats - the bike looks great.

Your rear hoop is a lot lower than the original - do you have any issues with clearance for the rear tires over bumps etc?

i'm only 120 lbs, so it's not really an issue for me. i think i'll throw on a pair of 750 shocks. that will give me an extra inch. i welded in a steel plate so even if it hits it's not going to hurt it besides scuffing the paint.

What did you use to keep the top of the fork boots up? I just got the same headlight ears and was wondering what I should do.

Did you do the knee dents yourself?

the knee indents i did myself.

they're tight enough to stay in place by themselves. the bottom is held in place by a tie wrap. here is the link to the ones on the bike.

they're shinko 712 tires. 100/90 front 120/80 rear. i purchased them from bike bandit. for the money they can't be beat. this is the third set i've put on a bike. i don't run them on my 750's but on a little 350 they handle awesome.

on another note, the oil pump seal started leaking sunday.

i woke up to a pool of oil about the side of a silver dollar on the garage floor. i just finished swaping out the o-rings. thanks again for all the compliments. its always a great honor to be nominated for BOTM, especially considering all the great bikes on the site.

sorry. i didnt take any pictures of the seat build. i didn't use any different meathod than most.
1. i carved it out of foam
2. covered it with painters tape
3. a couple of layers of PVA
4. covered it with satin glass weave (2 layers)
5. popped it off
6. added chopped mat to the inside to stiffen it up.

heres a pic of my 750 seat carved out of foam

Did you use any special kind of foam for the build up Shortround? I would think it would have to be fairly tight cell to shape, and sand well.

its just blue polystyrene from lowes. it comes in a 4x8 foot sheet. its layered up, glued together with spray adhesive, then i cut it with a home-made hotwire cutter. the trick is to use 150-100 grit sand paper to sand it. slowly or it will tear out chunks.
